My theory is that setts look best when they are wet.
After cooking class I went to an interesting lecture on set theory. I was doing OK until we got to Russell's Paradox, and I began to feel a bit woozy. Was it the codeine? Or maybe it was being reminded of something from long ago.
I went for a walk in Williamson Park and must have fallen through a wormhole; I found myself deep in the bush again. What joy!
On the way to cooking class I saw this high wall. It made me think of Kaffe Fassett and his amazing fabric designs.
I'm finally behind the camera again, though I used the cellphone as I was trying to get pictures of myself petting the neighborhood cats who show up on our porch for food. I couldn't get one I liked, so I enlisted hubby who gladly volunteered to pet kitties, and the kitties gladly volunteered to receive the petting. 😸🐈
The last public execution at Lancaster Castle took place in 1865. The gallows were accessed through French windows in the round tower. From 1865 to 1910 executions were carried out in private behind the wall in the middle of the frame.
Walking along the river bank, I am compelled once again to stop, to stand and stare. I am reminded of the poem by W.H Davies
Leisure
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?-
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
