An air vent on the front of the former railway station at Morecambe.
It's been a while since I could get down to this level. Physiotherapy, time, and Lenten genuflection have all helped.
After yesterday's egg débacle I've gone for a safer option. Hardy Scots should look away now in case the addition of honey and chia seeds to the porridge are offensive 😅
Seen at The Gregson Community & Arts Centre.
Home for a plethora, a cornucopia of cultural activities and stuff, and Lancaster's only community-run bar.
It's like a second home for some, and welcoming to all.
Along the towpath are these mile markers. This one is very worn. Most likely an original from the 18th century.
A local tea and coffee merchant with about 200 years' history.
Here today for a cup of Darjeeling and a sit down.
Looking across Morecambe Bay towards Warton Crag. It's an eceptional area of natural beauty, made up from limestone crags, and is home to wildflowers and butterflies. I shall go there soon. But today was at the dentist, so I think it's time to go home for a cup of tea.
No longer a church, but it's a listed building, so not going anywhere. It has been used as a gym.
Morecambe has a lot of listed buildings. I'm not sure how one reconciles preserving the past when it impedes development for today.
My last visit to Kew was some years ago on a bit of a dark day.
Looking back is as important as noticing today.
Outside the Priory is a fence; surprisingly, quite a lot of it is falling to pieces. However, some ladybirds have found a home in the layers of rust.
A gentle rain outside. I love how it affects the morning light in my kitchen.
Time for coffee and a sit down for a moment.
Worn. Extended. Modified. Enhanced. Used. Hand-built. Sweat. Skill. Improvised. Adapted.
Some of the things i see around me.
Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, Neptune and Uranus were all visible at same time in a curved line across sky. Some people call that a celestial parade. I couldn't take a picture worth looking at but here's a picture of the moon instead.
It was also possible to see several satellites moving across the sky, too. In case you're in Maryland, that was me waving 👋
Some people make models to pass the time. I'm trying to restore my friend's kitchen knives. They are blunter than bricks 😅
We had to draw around two circular objects and then color them in. We had to try to achieve different surface effects, so I chose to stipple the red area, thickly layer the blue bit, and try to get the yellow smooth.
It was fun to push the paint around and see how the drying affected the way it flowed (or didn't).
There's some deeply symbolic stuff going on here which would be way too tedious (and possibly pretentious) to put into words. That's why I prefer pictures to words.

Drizzle of oil

Health and safety regulations demand the garish warning stripes on the steps that lead into this red sandstone building. There's an expensive wireless access point above, but the paint on the door is flaking away under the blast from the sea nearby.
These tomato plants will eventually form the base of my autumn pesto,Pesto del lunatico. So named after the local river, not my state of mind 😁
I was given a delightful panettone for Christmas. It came in this tin which I am now using to store biscuits.
The expression, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" was first popularized by President Calvin Coolidge, itself being adapted from the English expression, "Eat it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without". It became a popular saying during WWI, the Depression, WWII ... and now we call it upcycling, re-purposing, etc.
I just think this tin is too nice to throw away.
I must be sickening for something. A day of reading, music, crumpets and tea. The wind blows and trees bend.
A cafe that brings people together through craft and good vibes.
I was curious...so went in to explore. You paint a plain piece of pottery which is then glazed and fired. It looked fun. I hope to return sometime.
To all you awesome Flickrite photographers out there!
Thank you all for your support, positive comments, sharing your amazing photography with me, and generally just being awesome people.
I wish a very Merry Christmas to you all!

Who doesn't like puffins?
This is one of several in an otherwise unremarkable car park.
