An amuse-bouche [aˌmyzˈbuʃ] is a single, bite-sized hors d’œuvre. The term is French, literally translated as "mouth amuser".
Walking through the old streets of Kanazawa in Japan, I met this fashionably dressed lady and asked if I could take her portrait. She was amused and I captured this moment before she took up a more formal pose. I love the spontaneity.

The country's most famous sculptor has a knack for simultaneously amusing and offending the public. Many of his weird and controversial sculptures remain on display throughout the city, including Babies.
Born in December 15, 1967 in Prague, he gained notoriety in 1991 by painting a Soviet tank pink that served as a war memorial in central Prague. As the Monument to Soviet tank crews was still a national cultural monument at that time, his act of civil disobedience was considered “hooliganism” and he was briefly arrested.
