R231 is a chassis code for the sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster, replacing the R230. The car was released in March 2012 and uses Mercedes-Benz's new 4.7 litre twin turbo V8 engine with a power output of 435 PS. Designed by Frank Pfisterer; and Mark Fetherston the R231 class of Mercedes SL was released in March 2012 for the 2013 model year as a replacement for the outgoing R230 Mercedes SLs. all the new generation are two door with a retractable hardtop and are made almost entirely out of aluminium, saving a clamed 140kg.
This SL350 was the entry level model at launch, only available for the 2012-14 model years its 3.5 litre engine producing 302 bhp amd is linked to a 7-speed automatic (7G-Tronic Plus) gearbox. The SL350 was replaced in the range, in 2014 by the SL400 a a 3 litre producing 328bhp,
The R231 range was given a mid-life facelift for 2017, cosmetically every SL received a revised front end, front grille treatment and larger non-functional side 'vents' behind the front wheels. All variants also received adaptive LED front headlights with integrated daytime running lights and turn signals, leaving the below bumper intake area free from lighting. The LED tail lights received single colour red or red and amber lenses instead of the red and white of the pre-facelift models. The engine range was upgraded and there was a slight revision to the folding 'Vario-roof' hardtop operation
The Mercedes SL R231 was replaced by a new generation R232 for the 2021 model year

here is the PC i built. switched from Mac to a PC. Crazy...thought i never would do the switch. But after feeling that my iMac was getting sluggish and how it would be cool to just update parts, i decided to build my own PC with about the price of an entry iMac. And thus, Beast was born.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.
On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.
These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 25.953+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

This Three seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of Twenty metres, in the height of a foggy golden hour around sunrise at 04:41am on Wednesday 30th April 2014 in the grounds of Foots Cray Meadows, standing in the River by Five Arches Bridge over the River Cray in Bexley, Kent, England.
An early start and aborted destination due to very thick fog, which had me rerouting over to the lake in the hope of capturing the beauty and atmosphere of the morning.
