This photograph was taken an altitude of Six hundred and ninety three metres, at 12:06pm on Saturday May 14th 2016 between Johnsons Crossing and Teslin, on the shoreline of Teslin Lake off the Alaska Highway 1 in Northern British Columbia, Canada.
Teslin Lake has a length of seventy five miles, spaning the border between British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. The name 'Teslin' means 'Long water'.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.
On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.
These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 21.062+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty eight metres at 10:51am on a showery morning on Tuesday 11th May 2021, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.
Here we see a Western Eurasian jackdaw (Coloeus monedula spermologus), one of four recognized subspecies of the western jackdaw and found in most of Eurtope, the British Isles and Morocco. It is darker in colour than the other subspecies and lacks the whitish border at the base of the grey nape. A passerine in the family Corvidae, it has rictal bristles covering much of the bill and is on the 'of least concern' status in conservation terms.

One of the best (and hidden) places in Senegal is the "Isle de Carabanne", a small islands, with few small hotels/hostels.
Only a few tourists go there, there are no cars on the islands (and no roads), and just a few motos amd some bike.
People there is exteremly nice and friendly and kids come with a smile to talk to you !!!!!!!!!!!!

Photograph taken at an altitude of Three metres, at 12:38pm on Monday May 20th 2019, on a beautifully warm and sunny morning off Birdcage Walk and Horse Guards Road in the grounds of St James's Park.
Situated in the City Of Westminster, the Park spans twenty three Hectares and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London, with a variety of visiting and nesting birds that include Ducks, Canada Geese and Pelicans.
Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely resonsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

This is the first post of a little serie concerning the french light cavalery divisions (DLC)
The AMD 178 was a french armored car developped in 1933. It was meant to fulfill recon missions within the french light cavalery divisions. These divisions were made out of motorised elements and cavalery elements (50/50), in may 1940 they were sent deep into the Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourgish territory to report german units, among them 5 were sent into the Ardennes. These divisions faced 4 panzer divisions and managed along, some Belgian troops that didn't receive the order to retreat from the german border, to save 3 days for the rear to prepare. They suffered terrible casualties while fighting and almost lost all their equipment, AMD 178's were very involved in these fights destroying multiple spahwagen and panzers. Unfortunately the french high command, especially Gamelin, neglected these reports and sticked to the initial plan thinking that this wasn't the main axis of attack. These division later held the french border and then the Meuse along infantry units. Afterwards AMD 178s were sent to perform different counter attacks to push the german back to the Meuse, even if some succeded it was too late.
This armored car had a 25mm anti-tank canon in a two seat turret and could reach 60km/h on road forward and backward. A plan to modify the armement was submited in may and they ended up by making a new turret with a 47mm anti-tank gun, unfortunately only one such AMD could see combat in june and ended up being destroyed after taking out two panzers.
The remaing ones were also used by the german army after the fall of France.

Photograph taken at an altitide of Six hundred and five metres at 09:29am on Tuesday 10th September 2019 off the Crowsnest Highway 3 between South Okanagan grasslands protected area and Osoyoos Lake, at Spotted Lake in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.
Spotted lake is asaline endorheic alkali lake situated in the Similkameen valley of BC conating depoits of magnesium sulphate, calcium and sodium sulpahtes, silver and titanium. In the summer months due to evaporation circles of mineral deposits are outlined in the lake to stunning effect. The lake is known as Kliluk to first nations people who purchased and protected the lake in October 2001. It is now fenced off and first nations people ask that visitors do not enter the land, or at least respect it.
Of all the days to visit Spotted lake, it had to be raining and overcast! So sadly there was little to see of the amazing circles and colours, reason enough I guess for me to one day return in Spring or summer.

Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely responsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.
