Sobre a chapada, cerrado e campo cerrado em rosa, em cinza quando com afloramentos rochosos e em solos litólicos. Em verde floresta ombrófila aberta / Pacaás Novos Range extreme East at Uru-eu-wau-wau Indigenous Land, overllaping Pacaás Novos National Park area, Rondonia State. Savannas in pink, over the tableau, and in gray when with rock outcrops and lithic soils. Open rain forest appears in green.

Researchers at Oregon State University and other agencies have published a new report in the journal Science outlining the risks facing the Brazilian Amazon Forest during the next 20 years. Figure A shows some of the types of aggressive deforestation done in recent years in Brazil in the name of economic development. Figure B shows the current level of forest cover now remaining in the Brazilian Amazon. Figure C relates to the study just concluded, and provides an optimistic scenario, above, and non-optimistic scenario, below, that predicts forest degradation by the year 2020. In this image, black is heavily degraded, including savannas and other non-forested areas; while red is moderately degraded; yellow is lightly degraded; and green is pristine. San Jorge de Cosanga is located in the Cosanga Valley ,in one famous road known as the Vía a las Caucheras. Caucheras means rubber

Plantations. This rubber production was very active during the Second World War when the americans were provided wuth this rubber to make tires for the war trucks and jeeps.

 

Has around 2300 meteres o.s.l. abd belong to an andean cloud forest sector. Its surrounded by many national parks . Anitzana, cayambe Coca, Suma, Napo

Galeras,as same as Guacamayos, Sierra Azul and others.

Its probbaly the best protected area in the country. Goes from 5800 meters hign at Antisana snowcap dowm to Napo Galeras with 1000 meters.

A fantastic place for observing orchids, mammals, butterflies as the spectacled bear, Tapirs, Ocelots, Tyras, Pumas, night monkeys, etc etc.

 

Here , the 2013 has happen THE WORLD RECORD FOR CHRISTMAS COUNT . 520 bird species in one single day ( 24 hours) . This is definetely, with the other San Jorge Eco-lodges settings, the best place in the world to observe birds!

Rio Pastaza, N da Amazônia Peruana. Superfície da água do rio, que corre de N a S, em marrom, água da Laguna Tuntumare, à dir., em preto. Em verde floresta Amazônica, chamada nessa região do Perú de Selva Baja ou Tropical. Tons mais escuros de verde na floresta de terra firme e tons mais claros na floresta de várzea, sazonalmente inundada. Nuvens em branco e suas sombras em preto / Pastaza River, northern Peruvian Amazon. River runs from N to S and its water appears in brown, while Tuntumare lagoon, to its right, appears in black. Amazon Forest in green, called in this Peru region Selva Baja, low jungle. Darker green tones in areas never flooded and light green in lowland forest, seasonally flooded. Clouds in white and its shadows in black.

EU food kits were also distributed to even remoter communities along the Inirida River, especially those who cannot afford to reach the main distribution centres.

As the floods destroyed local crops, many families needed food assistance. The Red Cross delivered food kits with rice, lentils, pasta, oil, panela, cassava and flour, to sustain a family for 30 days.

Amazon Forest, Peru

The Red Cross set up medical facilities in traditional indigenous homes of the Puinave ethnic group, which live in rainforests spanning Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil.

In a week, the Red Cross team assisted250 indigenous families from the Yuri and neighbouring villages. Patients received medical attention and consultation, but also free medicine and health tips to prevent the most recurring conditions.

Some indigenous patients walked over 8 hours to reach the villages where the German and Colombian Red Cross set up clinics for a week of consultation and primary healthcare.

Ailments treated by the Red Cross mobile teams range from respiratory diseases and severe parasites to hypertension.
