Amazing capture of an Osprey with a double hook-up while fishing for her evening meal. Most likely feeding for two back at the nest maybe? Photo taken at the Click Ponds in Viera, Florida. Check out John Law Photography for more amazing pics on Facebook.

Alumus Kori Walls '08 jumped head first into Americorps after graduation. The program has been growing in popularity and provides valuable job experience. Kori is currently in her second year with a program in Cape Cod. Living near the beach, she and her teammates spend their days protecting our environment with projects like preventing errosion and saving dolphins! These pictures are from a rescue they worked on this spring.

omashee: Amazing capture!
This amazing capture was shot a late summer night. This is the real deal! It really did look like this. The atmosphere that night was totally surreal. It was like the sky was all around really close to me. That night it was not windy at all, but the clouds were running over the sky.
an amazing capture of Venus considering the conditions. its cool how it is shining all natural i only adjusted the colors to make them darker.ImpulseArt.
FIREWORKS!! I have never hated my camera so much, the shutter speed was terrible so I missed a ton of fabuloussssss fireworks. But I got this one! Those were some epic fireworks. Can I pretend they're for my birthday? If only.
Tomorrow's my birthday... and I'm going to be spending it alone for most of the day at school, catching up. Fun :P

I missed the sunset tonight, so this is one I didn't get to post from three night ago. Yes, it really did look like this. And I have a dozen more pics of this awesome cloud display. Lol. I just wasn't in the mood to post that night. Am now

aprilshowers_77: Whoa!!! Stunning
kafferink: Amazing capture! Nice work!
valerigail: @aprilshowers_77 @kafferink thank you so much ladies!!! It was a gorgeous sunset that night. Was blessed to see it.
I can't take credit for this amazing capture, my Mother took it yesterday. As you read in my previous collage post, their backyard is flooded, notice the top of their chainlink fence that Jolly has decided makes a nice chin rest!! He looks quite content, don't you agree?? In fact, my Mom just emailed me and said he is stillll there!!!!
Another shot courtesy of Flickr user m20wc51, and taken by the same US serviceman who shot various scenes in and around Nagasaki in 1955. I don't know what the story is behind this one, but suspect the beer in the sailor's hand has something to do with it. Note also the sailing ship tattoo on his bicep. There's another shot in which we see these two ladies, but they have their faces turned away from the camera. Here, by contrast, they just seem, in a good-humoured sort of way, embarrassed by this gaijin. Note that Wikipedia tells us that this word may have acquired perjorative overtones (I'm not sure about that myself) and that there is an alternative, to wit, gaikokujin, literally, "foreign country person."
What I like about this shot is that it has a kind of precision and formality of design – most likely achieved by accident – that is quite striking. Three people, framed by the two trees and centred by the slight swell of the ground they sit on; two of the three are facing inwards and down, and the third (with his borrowed hat) looks out. The figure grouping and the hill make a roughly centred upward triangle composition, and the two trees create a rough downward centred triangle composition, the two overlapping on the central figure, like a laughing Buddha. And from above, the dominating sky over the humans. It's really quite an amazing capture.
The shot was very dirty and I haven't bothered to clean up every single speck of dirt and dust, but rather concentrated on first, the figures, and second, smoothing away what I could in the sky, and otherwise just tried to bring some colour back. The original shot can be found here, for purposes of comparison.
