I am always amazed by nature’s work, especially when I see otherworldly places like this. It is in here that I appreciate more the world that we live in, and thank the heavens for the life that I have.

In an earlier post I made mention of how amazed I am that these creators/artists keep managing to outdo them selves.

Six months ago at the last NEO JAPAN and as I posted here, I was raving about the quality of gifts offered each NEO JAPAN event by GABRIEL. I also mentioned that not one of the NEO JAPAN gifts would I have hesitated from purchasing and that October's off shoulder hoodie had been my favorite gift from Gabriel yet.

Well TAKUYA JIN has outdone himself AGAIN!!!

My first visit to the event, I had a problem with a lot of things not rezzing for me. I got to the GABRIEL booth and well, first of all I was blown away by a certain GACHA item and I just stood their in awe admiring it. After an eternity of that haha, I looked over and saw this awesome off shoulder jacket. I thought it was kick ass, said to myself "I am definitely BUYING that, lemme see how much it is." Well when I clicked to do so, it said ZERO linden, I thought I clicked on the demo icon, you see the sign beneath loudly marking it as a GIFT had not rezzed!! LMAO. Yes this jacket in the image is the gift, comes in both male and female versions and it's dope. I LOVE this jacket even more than the off shoulder hoodie. Really an ace piece.

There's only one shocker connected to this gift, I'll give everyone a clue, I am shocked. XD Shocked that for as much as I LOVE this jacket...that I came back the next day after getting it and I left that day with something from GABRIEL that I LOVE ten times more than this jacket!!!!

What's this??!!! You ask. Well, stay tuned you'll see. I'll give y'all another clue.

Back in the seventies, on Saturday Night Live, Garrett Morris had a recurring character who was a retired big league ball player. As with almost every recurring character during that iconic and legendary era of the show, this character had a catchphrase that became part of the public dialogue, that line was "Baseball has been Berry Berry good to me."

Well as is the case repeatedly for MOI..."Gacha machines have been BERRY BERRY good to me."

All By Moi ^-^

btw tra am not gd in editing :P

Every time our eyes meet

This feeling inside me

Is almost more than I can take

Baby when you touch me

I can feel how much you love me

And it just blows me away

I've never been this close to anyone or anything

I can hear your thoughts

I can see your dreams

(Chorus)

I don't know how you do what you do

I'm so in love with you

It just keeps getting better

I wanna spend the rest of my life

With you by my side

Forever and ever

Every little thing that you do

Baby I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin

The taste of your kiss

The way you whisper in the dark

Your hair all around me

Baby you surround me

You touch every place in my heart

Oh it feels like the first time every time

I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes

Decided to take a little road trip down to Sawley the other night to see what it had to offer - I've typically only photographed Sunrises & Sunsets there. It certainly didn't disappoint and gave me a great chance to road test the arrival of the correct wide angle lens for my new camera. I'm amazed at the detail this little Sony full frame and 16-35mm can capture - mirrorless is the future!

A little boy, his older sister and his younger sister are all speechless as i take their candid photo on the roadside of a village street in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.

“In the ebb and flow of life, an opportunity missed is often an opportunity missed forever!”

-Unknown

Since seeing the above quote on a coffee cup while out thrifting several weeks ago I have not been able to release the ebb and flow part from my thoughts. I am always amazed at where that “thing” that sticks in your heart, that inspires the deepest of thought can come from. Being a simple man, a coffee cup saying can become the “ear worm” that sticks!

This photo, taken at Ft. Pickens Florida back in 2022 was the last thing I edited before waking my beloved dog Sophie and heading to bed to sleep with my bride. Oddly, it was on my heart as I awoke this morning, riding on the back of the term ebb and flow like a jockey in the derby!

It was maybe a half an hour after sunrise as I walked the beaches of Ft. Pickens, totally prepared for the gifts that I knew would be granted. As I walked east on the beach in total solitude, I noticed flight after flight of pelicans, cormorants, seagulls and terns overhead as if on a mission and landing and swimming several hundred yards up the beach…there were hundreds of birds congregating in a very small area. Experience had taught me that a feeding frenzy was about to occur, so I sprinted down the beach to capture the event.

The sprint, that quickly morphed into a jog and then again into a fast walk got me there to see the entire evolution of the event and how the different species worked in unison for the sake of survival. The dolphin herded the small baitfish from the depts as they gorged themselves on the millions of fish. Once the fish were near the surface the divebombing began with the pelicans and cormorants hitting the water like a severe, softball size hail storm. The gulls and terns did their best to get into the action by taking the dead and injured fish from the surface. There was so much action in an area the size of a couple of tennis courts that focusing on a subject became impossible. I started swinging my lens around as if in a convulsion, perfectly reflecting what was going on between my ears!

This shot was taken as the frenzy was starting to die down. The shoal of fish who certainly numbered in the millions at the start were now splintered into several smaller schools with their numbers decimated. In this shot, the cormorants pinned a school between them and the beach with the school turning the small wave brown. The dolphin and pelican soon departed, much heavier that when they arrived. It was now time for the smaller consumers to feast, the species that could only take a few, or in the case of this juvenile Royal tern, one at a time.

The natural ebb and flow of our planet, the shifting of her plates, her natural cycles of ice ages and thaws and changing weather patterns allows events like this to take place. Sometime in the near future this area will experience a hurricane and the population of pelicans, cormorants, gulls and terns of the area will take a hit. The baitfish will thrive as the seabirds’ numbers rebound thus creating balance in nature, in the circle of life.

Adventure before dementia.

Cheetahs are solitary animals , who live alone, or in two…Males can create a group of more members. They can be very close to humans and have a strong bond with them….

This one you see here, has created a strong bond with her caretaker since she was a baby in the Lion Park of Johannesburg, and also …..with me!! With me, of course, she created a bond within the 10’ I was allowed to cuddle her…I was amazed to see the taken photos of me later, where I was close to her face to face, cuddling her tenderly like a dog! It is true, our energies were especially fulfilling, and we were not afraid of each other…And , I guess, this is the secret of the whole thing…The Love Energy Field!! ❤️

Amazed at how aggressive these graceful Godwits could be.

I just came back from a little roadtrip to Saxon Switzerland, stay tuned for more epic shots to come ;)

This one is from my last mission in Southern Germany: Castle Lichtenstein dancing in the sunset.

The way this castle was build on a small cliff really amazed me!

amazed how fast this grows back each summer - last summer it had bananas

I am amazed at the gamut of questions and statements in response to this

Thanks everyone....

1. Q; talk to me: OK, what an interesting idea, and here's one that has been bugging me -

Is our sense of beauty in art primarily ancestral, or is it primarily learnt? Does our evolved preference for savannah like scenes, beautiful (healthy) faces and bodies, food, safety and comfort act as a foundation for all of our learned preferences in art, or is it a primary filter through which we view everything, at least on some level? Or can other fundamental metaphors, learned more than inherited, and cultural more than evolved, be a completely separate basis for artistic delight and WOW! The question is inspired by (for me) the surprising uniformity in artistic preference across cultures, exemplified by flickr. Appreciation of much art (although not all derivative, modernist and minimalist forms) seems somewhat universal - we intuitively enjoy Chinese architecture, Afrikan sculpture, or Japanese art, even if we don't have the cultural reference points to understand it.

A: I don't even know where to begin.

In my sleep-deprived state coupled with the garden-variety summer lethargy, all I can seem to say is that is such an impressive question, I think trying to answer it would never do justice to its tidy profound perfection.

I am going to answer this in a bit, after I have warmed up...

2: Q: talk to me: What makes a photograph interesting to you? How does a photographer or contact hold your interest?

A: That is one I can't answer.

Sometimes it makes a lot of sense, if the person is a great photographer and they have a lot to teach, and others out of habit. Many (if not most) of my contacts truly hate flower macros, and yet they have politely lasted through my most painful and protracted attempts. If they hang in there, they have won me over. This is the litmus test, whether they one day send me a raging e-mail in all caps threatening flag my photos if there is ONE MORE OVERSATURATED LILY.

I am sure their fingers have hovered over the "remove this contact"option more than a few times.

These are my friends, and I respond in kind~

3.Q: How was the shower?

A: It was awesome.

I went an hour out of the city to a friend's house and we sat on sawed off lawn chairs staring at the sky and talking until we were covered with dew. The meteors were everywhere, just never where I had pointed my camera.

Ever.

And I probably had all my settings wrong, but the night was good, the company wonderful, and I can pretend there was cloud cover...

4.Q: talk to me: Did you see any Perseid meteors?

A: (See really lame excuse above, and example of a lovely meteorless night down the the comments)

talk to me: sweet dreams

who ever, where ever, u are

A:

:) goodnight, friend~

Q: talk to me: now that ur n 2 photography so deep, could u ever live without it???

A: I could, but it would be like losing an appendage.

It is--has become--an addiction.

Q: talk to me: When will I be born?

A: I guess when you let go of everything

(Every question that came, I thought of who had sent it... and with the exception of a few, I have no idea. But this one really stumped me and sent my poor underexcercised brain limping down a path that led in many directions~)

Q: talk to me: I’ve run out of laundry detergent. I have a large load to finish quickly. Can I use dish soap in the washing machine?

Of course!

And then you can serve dinner inside your socks, pita-fashion.

Q: talk to me: Hello my name is Denis

What is this form about? Why oh why?

A: (See the first question)

Q: talk to me: Why don't you ever answer e-mails?

A: Hi Mum! :)

Q:talk to me: For me love is just a dream . . . . Why it can't be real for everybody?

A: I think it is a dream for everyone~

---Flickr keeps hiccuping back everything I write.

I'll try later when it has held its breath and swallowed a glass of water---

Q: talk to me: Do you also experience the evaporation of the world around you when your eye and soul re capturing those beautiful or interesting images? :-)

A: That is a perfect way of describing what happens. It simply vanishes~

Q: talk to me: You are attending a wedding of someone you barely know. Suddenly the Bride and Groom lead a march in and around the reception location, adding guests' at the end of the line with The Bunny Hop tune playing. Your luck as the last person in line is an attractive well dressed man. Do you, finish your drink and jump in or slip off to the bathroom until the music stops?

A: You lost me at The Bunny Hop :)

Not even for a D3~

Q: talk to me: Do you dream in color?

A: I dream in low resolution, and the colour, if any, is faint.

Q: talk to me: If you were selected to be the photographer on the first manned mission to Mars would you accept the challenge?

A: They would never select me. I don't even know how work a flash, and unless there are cute little flowers on Mars, I'd be useless anyway...

Q: talk to me: Is there anybody there? Does anybody care?

A: Always, but perhaps not always the ones we want to care for us...

Q: talk to me: How tall are you?

A: Somewhere between 5'10" and 5'11"

I used to hate it, but it doesn't bother me any more

Q: talk to me: is any body in there ?

A: Yes, I am just very slow :)

very

very

slow...

Q:talk to me: Ever wonder if your best shot has been taken? What gets you to the next one?

A: I don't think I have a best, or at least it keeps changing (in my opinion)

I never have any problem getting to the next one. It's a question of doing it in a way that does not irritate everyone around me.

I do have a problem with the grim desaturation of winter, though. I lose a lot of inspiration when the sun is cold and bare.

Hi, We are back from our long week-end and it was great!!

on our way to our destination, we passed through this storm and i took some pictures!!

To my amazement, when I put it on my computer, I saw the lens of the camera reflected in the window!! It looks eerie I think!!

Exploring the fantasy world of Kerlingarfjöll. An out of this world experience.

Kerlingarfjöll is a mountain range in Iceland situated in the Highlands of Iceland near the Kjölur highland road. They are part of a large tuya volcano system of 100 km2 (39 sq mi). The volcanic origin of these mountains is evidenced by the numerous hot springs and rivulets in the area, as well as red volcanic rhyolite stone the mountains are composed of. Minerals that have emerged from the hot springs also color the ground yellow, red and green.
