Mt. Ama Dablam as seen from Kala Patthar as the sun rises and the rays just touch the summit. Only the mother mountain is visible here. No daughter/necklace mountain.
...And his little Pipipi friend.
He even has a theme song.
Come, A’ama, Come Come A’ama,
Come, A’ama, Come Come A’ama,
Come, A’ama, Come Come A’ama,
Come-a Come-a Come-a, Come-a, Come-a A’ama Crab
He’s the King of the Rocks,
The King of the Concrete Slab.
He can run and hide, he can do the slide,
He’ll even try to sneak up from the other side.
Come-a Come-a Come-a, Come-a, Come-a A’ama Crab
We were catching some A’ama for the Luau on Saturday night, yeah.
We knew it would be hard, but we go by faith and not by sight, Oh, NO.
Ua holo a wi wi ku o kaikuna lei,
A aka aka wau no ka mea haku lei
Come-a Come-a Come-a, Come-a, Come-a A’ama Crab
Come-a Come-a Come-a, Come-a, Come-a A’ama Crab...
Best viewed at least large.
This is one of the best street shot I have taken to date, IMO, and it's pure luck.
What do you think?
"Ama'r" is slang for Amager, which is the part of Copenhagen this photo was taken. People living in the Amager area likes to refer to themselves as "Ama'ricans".

Ama Dablam is Ama Dablam is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
It's a mountain in the Himalaya range of eastern Nepal. The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), the lower western peak is 6,170 metres (20,243 ft). Ama Dablam means "Mother's necklace"; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. For several days, Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to Mount Everest basecamp.

As you probably noticed already, updates will be sketchy during the holidays. A merry christmas to everyone! Original image on www.aperturefirst.org.

This wonderful mountain dominates the view on the trek to Everest Base Camp.
This was shot at 6am from the top of Kala Pattar (5,550m). The highlight of the Everest trek is not actually base camp where you cannot see Everest, but the Kala Pattar summit, the highest point on the trek and most difficult climb because of the effects of altitude.
From the top there is a panoramic view of the the biggest mountains in the world.
