A Sunday walk in the Weaselhead.
Not sure if you would call this a flood plain, but this is the point where the Elbow is no longer a river, but not quite the reservoir either.
A coach giving last-minute instructions at the Debrecen 2012 European Swimming Championships. By the look of his hand sign, it must be almost there :-)
Hoot continues to bleed speed on final for landing. The landing was uneventful and Hoot had himself and the bird safely back on Terra Firma.
A memorial to three servicemen who died in the Great War. This is in Old St. Mary's churchyard in Widnes's West Bank down by the river.
It wasn’t easy but we made it!
There were some close calls when my trusty mule wanted to give up and turn back, but some encouraging words and the generous use of my (specially for this occasion) handcrafted whip kept him properly motivated.
And it wasn’t that bad after all, it only took about one and a half hour of straight uphill hiking and we made it to Rigi-Staffel, the first stop on top of the mountain.
We were just about to contemplate our achievement when we heard a strange noise, from a nearby bench, it sounded like… could it be? Yes, it definitely sound liked “Pip, pip”!
And there he was, the little rascal had conquered the Mountain in style by taking the Railway. He made the international sign of the clock as if he had waited hours for us and was keen to get to the peak.
No rest for my poor mule then, he had to take on an additional passenger and with a crack of the whip, we went off to reach the peak… what’s another half an hour uphill hiking anyway? Piece of cake hehe.
More scenic pictures tomorrow :-)
I captured this shot at the BWI observation park. It won't be long before all the AirTran 737 jets are re-painted with the colors of Southwest Airlines as the two airlines complete their merger.

Almost Nothing
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Almost nothing
Close and near
Step by step it'll bring
Futures in very clear
Almost nothing
Here and now
With moments to string
Tomorrows sow
Like balloons into air
Worrying is going
Lightness up the spiral stair
Everybodys showing
Take the plough
Almost nothing
Close and near
Step by step it'll bring
Every inch and square
Almost nothing almost nothing
And try you right on
Feel the minutes how they ming
In between till they're gone
Permanent dwellings
Always feel too small
There are endless retellings
One for each appall

Technically, early March still isn't spring, but apparently, those trees didn't get the memo. Won't complain, this way I got an opportunity to play with my then-newly acquired lens. Early March 2016.
Taken with Panasonic GX7 camera and adapted smc Pentax-M 100mm F2.8 lens.

Freightliner Class 66 diesel-electric freight locomotive at Barking. 66569 viewed through the window of a moving train travelling at roughly the same speed as the Freightliner locomotive.
The sucessful Class 66 locomotives were made from 1998 until 2008. Some were exported.
Well, let's remember the Old-skool Split screen focusing screen on your camera.. That's where my idea came from.. Looks like the object almost in focus, doesn't it?
To get this idea, I used the mirror of 1970's Toyota Celica 2000GT Liftback, which reflected the car's hood..
Hope you guys enjoy my picture..^^
