These three cackling geese flew in to a pond where I was watching pintails. Got a quick shot of their descent.
f/22 used to catch the rays as the sun hit the tree line..Lightroom to lighten the whole area a bit so the rays would show more ...I am trying to check in with some contacts in between lesson plans...hope everyone is having a great night! ON explore at #42 June 3

For the last couple years I have been trying to capture a good shot of a pelican. This is the best one so far. I will keep trying, I like the image, I just think it could be better.
Monarch butterfly on native Firebush in the backyard in God's garden.
The title means this beauty is "almost finished" with its short life. Makes me sad to think of it ...

No, this is no real alpenglow, as there is direct sunlight of the setting sun hitting the mountains ... but some people call this alpenglow, too ; ))

That evening back in 2019 was my first try to get a photo of the alpenglow and for some minutes there was lovely light on the mountain Sassolungo / Langkofel (3,181 m) during sunset.
There sadly was no 'true alpenglow' later on (after sunset) ... but it was a lovely evening nonetheless ;))
What looks like a nordish paradise with many birchtrees is actually the "Pfrunger-Burgweiler- Ried" in the south of germany, A rewetted moor.
Straight out of the Lightroom app on the iPhone. So a double negative, but we're giving it a go. I have no idea why the resolution is so low on this, I set it to DNG and it gave me a low res JPG, but I quite like it anyway.
Chicago Botanic Garden is noted for its wide variety of flowers, but the Garden also has a section for fruits and vegetables, which is where I found this Golden Hubbard Squash developing on the vine.

This almost open rose made me smile, it's scrunched up face almost bursting into a smile but not quite. The anticipation made me smile, I hope it makes you smile too.
Just arriving in Wycoller from the opposite end ! The bridge is 1000 year old !!
Clam Bridge is possibly more than 1000 years old and is listed as an Ancient Monument. It is a single slab laid across Wycoller Beck and once had a handrail. In 1989 and again in 1990 the bridge was swept away and cracked in two. It was repaired and replaced in 1991.
As the end of the days draws near, the stage is set for another spectacular sunset in Huntington Beach, California.
