Common Spotted Ladybird (Harmonia conformis)
The Plum Tree has become a popular breeding ground for Ladybirds. I am still watching for the one that has featured this last week to emerge. I have spotted 3 more larvae about to moult to pupae and one pupa exoskeleton , along with around 20 Ladybirds around the tree!
The most wonderful day spent with the FFF+ at the Alfred Nicholas Gardens, just outside of Melbourne.

These three cackling geese flew in to a pond where I was watching pintails. Got a quick shot of their descent.

For the last couple years I have been trying to capture a good shot of a pelican. This is the best one so far. I will keep trying, I like the image, I just think it could be better.
Monarch butterfly on native Firebush in the backyard in God's garden.
The title means this beauty is "almost finished" with its short life. Makes me sad to think of it ...
The Full Buck Moon, July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. No, this is no real alpenglow, as there is direct sunlight of the setting sun hitting the mountains ... but some people call this alpenglow, too ; ))

That evening back in 2019 was my first try to get a photo of the alpenglow and for some minutes there was lovely light on the mountain Sassolungo / Langkofel (3,181 m) during sunset.
There sadly was no 'true alpenglow' later on (after sunset) ... but it was a lovely evening nonetheless ;))
What looks like a nordish paradise with many birchtrees is actually the "Pfrunger-Burgweiler- Ried" in the south of germany, A rewetted moor.
UBHF battles heavy wheel slip on the final few hundred feet before the top of the mountain at Blue Ridge Summit. The trees contribute excellent color, but also leafy residue that will continue to gum up the rails and keep things slippery for the Maryland Midland crew.
Straight out of the Lightroom app on the iPhone. So a double negative, but we're giving it a go. I have no idea why the resolution is so low on this, I set it to DNG and it gave me a low res JPG, but I quite like it anyway.

Just arriving in Wycoller from the opposite end ! The bridge is 1000 year old !!
Clam Bridge is possibly more than 1000 years old and is listed as an Ancient Monument. It is a single slab laid across Wycoller Beck and once had a handrail. In 1989 and again in 1990 the bridge was swept away and cracked in two. It was repaired and replaced in 1991.
As the end of the days draws near, the stage is set for another spectacular sunset in Huntington Beach, California.
