Commercial aviation within Asia is amongst the most popular anywhere in the world and it is not uncommon to find wide-body jets operating short-regional to domestic flights. Japan is no exception, their main carriers from All Nippon Airways to Japan Airlines opting to utilise wide-body jets on short domestic flights even in the face of high speed rail that dominates the country.
All Nippon Airways remains the only airline to operate every single variant of the Boeing 777; the carrier took delivery of their first examples back in 1995 with the original Boeing 777-200 on domestic flights, amassing 16 in total with withdrawals commencing from 2016... Only 2 remain in service and are the amongst the last of this type produced by Boeing back in 2005. Alongside the Boeing 777-200s, All Nippon Airways also operates 8 Boeing 777-200ERs which too are primarily dedicated for domestic flights; these also include some of the last Boeing 777-200ERs produced by Boeing in 2013 which have been dedicated to Japan domestic flights since new, the elder 3 examples were previously utilised on international flights.
Amongst the Boeing 777 collection that All Nippon Airways have, it also includes 5 of the rare Boeing 777-300s, the first stretch of the Boeing 777 family which were mainly popular with Asian carriers. All Nippon initially had 7, but that number has since reduced to 5. Of course, All Nippon Airways were also very early customers of the Boeing 777-300ER as previously discussed, that number also further reduced following COVID-19; and their cargo subsidiary operates 2 Boeing 777Fs.
Apart from the Boeing 777Fs and Boeing 777-300ERs, All Nippon Airways Boeing 777-200/200ER/300 fleets were ordered and fitted with Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines, one of the original 3 engine options for the first-generation Boeing 777s. These have continued to provide reliable service for All Nippon Airways, however they were temporarily grounded following 3 separate incidents of uncontained engine failures to Pratt & Whitney-powered Boeing 777s. The fleet were gradually reintroduced into service during 2022 and their numbers have stayed the same since their return.
In the near future, All Nippon Airways are to retire the remaining Boeing 777-200/300s as more Boeing 787-9/10s come on stream; very recently, All Nippon Airways have begun taking delivery of Boeing 787-9s dedicated to domestic flights, and this will be followed by the Boeing 787-10s. The smaller Boeing 787-8 already forms a major role in ANA's portfolio of domestic flights.
Currently, All Nippon Airways operates 30 Boeing 777s, which includes 2 Boeing 777-200s, 8 Boeing 777-200ERs, 5 Boeing 777-300s, 13 Boeing 777-300ERs and 2 Boeing 777Fs. All Nippon Airways have 2 Boeing 777-8Fs and 18 Boeing 777-9s on-order.
Juliet Alpha Seven One Four Alpha is one of 2 Boeing 777-200s operated by All Nippon Airways, delivered new to the carrier on 28th June 2005 and she is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney PW4084 engines.
Boeing 777-281 JA714A slows on Runway 34R at Tokyo-Haneda (HND) after working NH50 from Sapporo-New Chitose (CTS).
ZA102, line #9, the first production 787 that will be delivered passes the fences around the ramp next to the tower that now holds three sister ANA 787s awaiting ceritification and delivery.

This is the second 787 built, used in the testing and certification program for the type - during that time, it wore the colors of launch customer All Nippon Airways, but it never actually flew for them. Apparently it would have required too much effort and expense to bring it up to full-production standard, so it was delivered to the Pima Air and Space Museum rather than airline service.
