!st captures with my MAvic Air 2 that arrived yesterday, new toy, and I love it already. all shot in Raw at 48mp setting. Edited in Lightroom.
All shot from the hip. The locals understandably did not allow focused photography in the old city market area.
All shots of the whale sharks were taken responsibly, i.e. snorkeling, without using flashes and with sufficient distance.
The animals were not fed and swam in plankton-rich waters in a natural seasonal migratory corridor for whale sharks. When they had had enough, they dived into the depths.
Couple of Test shots with the 7 artisans 12mm f2.8.

This is a rework from a photo tour with a landscape master Marc Adamus, two years ago. I was never happy with the original job so I hope this is an improvement. How this was taken was a first also. It is a hand held 3 shot manual blend. I have never taken a hand held shot standing in a stream. All shots are taken a few minutes apart as everyone took turns attempting the same shot. I went back last year trying to locate the same section and attempt it with a tripod, but of course the river alters course every year. Hopefully I will be getting another chance when fall colors next month. Until then this will have to do.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

[These were all shot through the office window.] This busy little squirrel was getting a lot of attention from my cats, who were riveted by the activity. The squirrel seemed to know that the cats were on the inside but he still wasn't totally comfortable. We watched him gather half a dozen or so acorns and scurry off to his well-hidden larder, each time carrying a big acorn in his mouth.

Tonight was a Pcb, gas mask, blown out background and tripod swapping type of a night.
All shot during a single long exposure with some lens cap trick for good measure.
Pcb exposed first at 50mm on the Tamron. Back and side lit with my led lenser. Cap on and changed focus and focal length to 17mm. Gas mask on, cap off and fired the flashgun at the wall behind. Full power on 50mm.
A few light touches and a crop in LR and that's 277 done.
This is part of a series of 13 images. These were all shot in the beautifully renovated Metrohan building in downtown Istanbul. This part of the building is from 1912, designed by Turkish-Armenian architect Mikayel Nurican. The work is an attempt to capture the timeless ambience of the interior spaces, developed in post-production with a faint nod to the work of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi.
