The alignment of the closed Webb Dock rail link. With development occurring at both ends of the line, about 6km of track remains, cut off at both ends.
I took several shots of this beauty, wrote about it and now it's finding its way here. Alignment brings peace. On purpose, full of meaning. What a blissful way to live.

This is a view of Chicago from the top of the Sears Tower. Alignment is extremely prevalent in developed cites such as Chicago. It is a useful way of organizing a city to allow residents to navigate through the city more easily. Straight lines are easier to follow and memorize than curves. Old cities such as Mexico city (it's been around since the 1500's) have disorganized streets and criss crossing highways that make navigation extremely difficult.
Meteors are the least of our worries. :)
Yet another random idea from my mind.

The original Espee took a different route at many points, and combined with new and old US-90 made for an interesting diversion from the barrenness of the landscape.
