this was a pre-dawn shot from last weekend, I was trying for that "silky" water effect but an added bonus was catching the planetary alignment of Jupiter, Mercury & Venus still visible in the top left corner. Lucky thing, don't think I'll be around for the next one !
Alias: Lightning Bug
Real Name: N/A
Gender: Male
Alignment: Villain
Backstory: A mercenary for hire, that has tried and failed to kill the Batman on multiple occasions. Not having any success there, the Lightning Bug would instead decide to target Robin/Jason Todd. It's not known whether he made his flight suit himself, or that he stole it. One would presume the latter, but you never know with these unpredictable rogues of Gotham City. His real name is unknown, as he has managed to somehow evade capture by the GCPD. Some theorize Lightning Bug may be related to Drury Walker, aka Killer Moth, but there's zero proof to back up said claims.
Alias: Ventriloquist
Real Name: Arnold Wesker
Gender: Male
Alignment: N/A
Backstory: Arnold Wesker is a meek, mild mannered individual, that has never really spoken up for himself. Arnold developed a fear for albatrosses early in his childhood, even demanding for his father to take him home. A few weeks later, Arnold would lose his parents in a hit and run. Arnold blamed the albatross he saw weeks beforehand for the death of his parents. His anger would be bottled up for years to come. It was only when he was a young adult that he would finally snap. While in a bar, he would make a smart remark, that would anger two of the men there, leading to them attacking Wesker. In a moment of rage, Arnold's frustrations/hostility towards his parents death would come out that night, ending with both of the men, dead. He'd be sent to Blackgate Prison for the next few years. During his time in prison, he'd become enamored with his cellmates puppet, simply named Woody. This is where his interest in Ventriloquism started. But Donnegan wasn't a fan of Wesker being around Woody, and would threaten him constantly. It got to the point where Arnold wanted to die. But Woody wouldn't allow it, and would inform Wesker of the escape route Donnegan was making. Woody wanted Wesker to escape with him, instead of committing suicide. Wesker thought he was crazy at first, but would eventually give in to his demands, and they would escape. Sick of the name that Donnegan gave him, Woody would ask for a new name, befitting of his image. Wesker would give him the name Scarface. That was the day that Ventriloquist and Scarface were born. Through Scarface, Wesker can release his pent up emotions. He would be controlled by Scarface into doing things that he wouldn't necessarily do beforehand. They would eventually encounter the Batman for the first time. Unfortunately for the pair of them, they'd lose the encounter, being sent to Arkham Asylum shortly after. The staff at Arkham are currently trying to rehabilitate Wesker into not needing Scarface anymore.
Name: Doctor Simon Hurt
Gender: Male
Alignment: Villain
Backstory: An immortal wealthy satanist who would form the group Black Glove during his time at Willowood Asylum as a psychiatrist. Simon, and the rest of Black Glove would serve Barbatos, even offering human sacrifices as offerings. The group even places bets on deaths of various citizens of Gotham City. Simon claims that Barbatos is the one who gave him his own immortality, but there's no substantial evidence to support the claim. He uses a combination of his background in psychiatry, and his hypnosis technology as his weapons against Batman, rather than physical firearms. He will only use a gun as a final resort, but even then, he's not a fan of using them. Upon learning Batman and Bruce Wayne were one in the same, Simon Hurt would do everything in his power to tarnish the Wayne name.
Alias: Lock-Up
Real Name: Lyle Bolton
Gender: Male
Alignment: Antihero/Villain
Backstory: Former head of security at Wayne Enterprises, before being hired as Arkham's chief of security, thanks to Bruce Wayne's recommendation. Bolton promised that no one would escape on his watch. Though it was quickly seen that his methods were rather harsh. His hatred for the prisoners ran so deep, that he wouldn't allow them basic necessities, even when they were cooperating. After months of investigating, a court hearing would be held. Most of the villains stayed silent. However, Bruce Wayne would be able to provoke a reaction, which lead to Lyle Bolton lashing out. Immediately his position at Arkham was gone. His mind would snap that day, as he blamed everyone involved for being "too nice" to the villains who had murdered so many innocent people. He would become Lock-Up, and would dish out his own brand of justice. He'd eventually be welcomed with open arms into the Supreme Court of Gotham alongside White Knight, Judge, Rumor, and Executioner.
Alias: Madame Crow
Real Name: Abigail O' Shay
Gender: Female
Alignment: Villain
Backstory: Abigail was a student at Gotham University, under the tutelage of Doctor Jonathan Crane, who was fascinated by Batman, and the other vigilantes of Gotham City. So much so that she wrote her doctoral thesis on them. She referred to them as the "cape and cowl' crowd. The most intriguing thing for her was why the vigilantes did what they did, and what sort of trauma would mold them into these vigilantes. Unfortunately her interest in these heroes would lead her straight into Crane's clutches as the Scarecrow. He would test different variations of his fear toxin on her, and it would take years before the Batman and Robin would rescue her. Unfortunately the damage to her psyche was already done. The first of many victims, at the hands of Scarecrow. While stuck in Arkham Asylum, her hatred towards Batman grew, as she blamed him for having to endure so much trauma in those years held captive by Scarecrow. Eventually, she would be released from Arkham, and would join up with the Victim Syndicate, vowing that no one would ever have to feel the trauma/fear she did ever again. Now equipped with an "anti fear toxin" her dream may become a reality.
Early morning alignment of (l-to-r) Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter with the Moon. About an hour before sunrise 16 April 2020. Moncton, NB. A few minutes after the tidal bore. No one around. Over the past couple of days, the Moon has been sweeping the 3 planets from right to left. Looking south-ish over Riverview.

I uploaded these 3 for one to go through to post at HBW tomorrow. A sort of Bokeh idol if you like. The one with the most votes gets posted
Ok this is the winner. Thanks everyone. HBW
Description: From our location on the side of the the trackage just inside Wyoming, UP #844 (the X on the number board probably means eXtra) glides quietly around the curve that aligns with the Speer wye section of the Denver to Cheyenne line. Eddie learned they would be heading for Cheyenne with the Frontier Days Special. Duh, same as every year for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Special. I guess it IS the grandaddy of them all with all this falderol. It's a nice touch to have the state flags on the pilot. Needless to say Eddie was bound and determined to get me up early. Of course! #844's approach can be gauged by listening for the low throated steam whistle at grade crossings as it popped into Wyoming from Colorado, not a lot of worthy crossings up here but the one at the Terry Bison Ranch. I don't see any buffalo blood or meat on the pilot!. Was that the whistle they stole from the Big Boy or was that the one they planted on the Challenger? Eddie was fried by the fact they didn't sand the flues on the way by. Fried? It doesn't smell like cooking French fries. I think I got a bit more smoke from the oil fired beasty on other runs. It must be that old Crisco cooking oil burning. Not the best light either. Nothing serious. Screw the sky devoid of anything (it WAS the pits) so this marks another time I had to get through this on an #844 shot. Because I don't particularly need the practice as much as others I know, I decide on a different sky (this is McIntosh spray) than the mine that has already taken a pounding! Lately, I prefer to modulate great clouds that I find. But I am always in the market to snag more skies for my stash.
Here, diesels shepherd the run but not for power (this engine can pull, thank you) but they are used to provide the safety power for the train thus guaranteeing arrival at the destination. And they get to help handle the yards such as when I saw it fall off the tracks in Cheyenne; oak wedges did the trick that time. The oak wedges MAY have been toast; I don't remember.. Southern Pacific also has a similar roller bearing engine remaining under steam. Their is a fine oil burning locomotive that has been clocked at 120 MPH. Really, this has 80 inch diameter driver and clips of some real estate every time they turn. Once while standing next to the ballast and trackage looking at #844 in the Laramie yards, I was looking at the axles; the cab is two stories up! The 80inch diameter drive wheels tower over my head and I'm 6 foot tall so I look up at the tops of the drivers. That hanger on in the lime green COULD get hurt if he falls off this thing. And that's without having legs chopped off that seems to popular around here lately; I've never considered that myself..
The trailing cars carry dignitaries (they don't actually do any digging), crew and extra brakes past the curve. It is a pretty good drag. Guess what, the brakes on #844 can't be expected to shut down the locomotive's speed. I haven't seen the locomotive busting speed regulations for quite a while, this engine is well balanced for high speeds and I have seen the side rods as a blur. This chunk of metal is way too valuable at this time in history to wreck. I realize that I happen to live in a fortuitous spot and will wait until the next steam up. If it is cooler, steam will leak wherever possible and provide great shooting..

"...Magnificent beings, in the perfect place at the perfect time, unfolding perfectly, never getting it done, and never getting it wrong. [...] Today, no matter where I'm going, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I'm doing it with — it is my dominant intent to look for that which I'm wanting to see. I'm wanting to find thoughts and words and actions that feel good while I'm finding them. For in doing so, I am, in the moment, practicing the art of allowing all that I've been telling the Universe I'm wanting, for all of the days of my existence." - E.Hicks
I love how these two 16th century buildings were built in perfect alignment allowing one to reflect on their symmetry and harmony. The domes and arches in the background are of the MIr-i Arab Madrassah as they are seen from inside the courtyard of the Kalon Mosque. From this viewpoint, they appear to be one.
I so wanted to take this photo with no one in the way, but it was not to be.

Southeast of Waterville on a commanding hill stand four monument stones. They extend in a line for 30 feet, with some being up to ten feet in height. There is evidence of a complex structure with remnants of an enclosure or cairn base on the south side. A megalithic tomb also appears to have been adjoined to the monument stone alignment at one time. Local legend refers to the site as the grave of Amergin's wife. Amergin was the chief of the infamous Milesian invaders who arrived in Ireland in 1700 BC.
