Humans are like extras in their own world.
This "Shadow Series" photo, while seemingly straightforward, is more nuanced. It evokes the New Topographics style, yet deviates by including human figures, something generally absent from the genre. While preserving the alienation inherent in NT photography, the ambiguous human presence subtly amplifies the scene's possibly unsettling nature.
Swansea which is a wonderful city by the sea .. it famous by friendly people and a great natural view which makes you to forget the alienation in case of overseas student .
By the way this photo is taken by the phone which means that to be a good photographer nothing stop you to take the picture if you like it even if you haven't a Pro-camera and try to do your best to take the picture .. because you will regret to missed it ...
Also take to consideration that doesn't matter how ever you take the picture because it can be editing and be more beautiful. The main point from what I said that taking the picture by whatever you have and don't think about anything…
=)

Cities At Night - Deventer historic city
Lately I'm trying to capture scenes with a certain film noir mood. Last Monday evening (nov 2nd) there was a lot of fog. That's a gift for photographers who have a goal like I have: capturing cinematic street scenes with themes as loneliness, melancholy and alienation. A sombre mood visualized by fog and a lonely figure.
The figure by the way is me.

The work Together Forever presents a flock of inflatable PVC swans. The swans are presented as symbols of togetherness; specifically, they spend most of their lives with the same partner and raise their young together. Swans that lose their partner often ‘remain widowed’ for the rest of their lives, which makes them symbols of loyalty. Even though we constantly express a great desire for togetherness and eternal love, increasingly often we are witnessing damaged and broken relationships that lead to great pain, alienation and separation as the source of many of our frustrations and anger. For the artist, this work actually represents a fantasy on an ideal relationship without much effort, the relationship that is self-explanatory and taken for granted. By letting the air out, however, everything can instantly remain sheer illusion.
The great omission in American life is solitude; not loneliness, for this is an alienation that thrives most in the midst of crowds, but that zone of time and space, free from the outside pressures, which is the incubator of the spirit.

Of distancing and approach
Of strain for affection and of
Attraction for alienation."

Momentan zeige ich Zeichnungen von 2013, die ich kürzlich übermalt habe - erst fast normal, aber als drittes Bild eine Verfremdung, die ich mir ausgedacht habe mit surrealistischem Charakter als eine Überraschung.
At the moment, I'm showing drawings from 2013, which I recently painted - almost normal, but as a third picture an alienation, which I devised with surrealistic character as a surprise.
In the first half of the 19th century, early socialist thought often described the new industrial machinery as being lubricated with human blood and that the industrial revolution was devouring its workers. That was not far off the mark. Karl expressed similar ideas, though in a more sophisticated and philosophical way. His concept of "lebendige Arbeit", something like the work process as the giving away of bits and pieces of the worker's life, became the background for his theory of alienation. That we are talking of human life is often denied when our politicians and economic leaders focus on the "rationality of production" or the requirements of "the market". I hope this story is being told and explored in education. If not, the distant memories might return, with a bang. Sony A7iii.

medium-linocut
Inspired by the modernity of London's subway system, popularly known as the Tube,Power featured it in many of his signature linocuts. The disengaged passengers on this crowded train prefer to read their newspapers rather than to interact with one another.Alienation,a byproduct of modern life is a theme often present in Power's images of the Tube.Power designed posters for the London Passenger Transit Board from 1929-1937,promoting the use of the system under the pseudonym

For some, modernity resulted in an increasing feeling is alienation as people began moving through spaces at a faster pace.Edward Hopper captured this transitory nature of modern life in paintings infused with a sense of isolation and estrangement.
Completed at the height of Hooper's career, this painting shows Macomb's Dam Bridge, which connects Manhattan and Bronx. There are no signs of life in the city.Instead,an eerie stillness pervades the scene, resulting in a disquieting mood
If you visit Whitemill Bay, with the exception of North Ronaldsay, there is nothing but open sea until you arrive at Shetland. The Northerly wilderness and the deserted bay bring home the feral expanse of the Northern Isles and a trajectory towards the Faroe's, Iceland, Jan Mayen and the Arctic Circle.
Whitemill Bay is eerily beautiful, the patterns of the untouched slate that are prevalent across the bay, the white sands and the deep, variegated hues of the ocean inspire awe and evoke a feeling of alienation that is redolent of human disparity with nature. Paradoxically, the beauty of the bay evokes a profound calmness that, for me, is an expression of the existential link between human beings and nature. However. I acknowledge that the bifurcation between man and nature is arbitrary.
There was no human presence during my visit, the only other creatures I observed were a splattering of Sea Gulls in the near distance, baying and shrieking like some kind of Jurassic animal! The natural light appeared to be filtered through the dramatic cloud forms that threatened storms, despite the warm, sunny conditions. Rainbow-like colours hung in the air, giving a subtle colouration and the graphic hues of the rocks, sea and sand seemed to create a painting that was yet to be painted!

The museum has in built-in elevator that comes up just a little bit higher than a grown-up’s ankle, on a scale of 1:7,5. The lift cabin disappears to an unknown destination in a building that does not have any storeys. Cattelan plays a game of copying and scaling, which allows the spectator to look at reality from a different point of view. The moment of recognition is immediately followed by the feeling of alienation, which is exactly what the artist is aiming for.
