Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate bells at Macro Monday. Of course, I have a tiny bells collection … Sadly, being a hoarder is perfect for all this Flickr challenges. I have props everywhere… just give me theme and I’m sure somewhere in my house there is a collection perfect for that theme and ready to be photographed.
My today’s picture is a tiny brass bell, about 3,5cm height. It rings almost like a cowbell (a little bit more discrete since it is rather small) but I try to keep that a secret from my sons: I don’t want to become a case of alienation by ringing bells… I already have tinnitus during the night so I dont need to hear more cowbell in my bed !!
And if you are a SNL fan, I’m sure « More cowbell » does ring a bell… For others, you can watch the famous « More cowbell » sketch here : vimeo.com/257364428
Happy Monday my friends !! See you later, I have a meeting and I will think about cowbell for sure !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!
For street photography and also for Instagram, the Orange Teal look is often used. Is this also allowed for animal photography? I think so. I like it.
Normally I also turn such pictures horizontally by 180° so that the animal runs out of the picture to the right. The reason for this is the thesis that we Europeans also read from left to right and are used to this direction for us.
The inhabitants of the island after the Second World War faced serious problems. Jobs were scarce, health care absolutely precarious, and so on. Many were forced to emigrate to Athens (where there is a small area in Maroussi called "Karpathiotika"), or abroad - mainly to America. Some returned permanently or for vacations, but unfortunately, many did not. So, walking the streets in the villages, we see several buildings in ruins.
Here we see a special construction, typical of the Aegean islands: a slightly elevated small "loft" with a railing, on which was the couple's bed. The space was separated also by curtains, in order to offer some privacy.

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage
Cast in this unlikely role
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
Living in a fish eye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend
All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
The real relation

Who told you that people in prehistoric times, in the glorious period of "Ur-Kommunismus", were living in freedom, equality, without exploitation or alienation and with plenty of leisure time? And that the abolition of Capitalism would give us a chance of 'returning' to this situation? Where did you get this knowledge from? It's faith, Karl, is it not? It is an important faith though. And there is nothing wrong with faith as long as we know that we believe. If we believe that we know, however, everything goes wrong.
What is certain, however, is that the new regime will combine the most inhumane aspects of capitalism with the most atrocious aspects of state communism, combining the extreme alienation of relations between people with an unprecedented social control. [GA]

Inspired by Edvard Munch's "The Scream."
The image is a macro photo of a hairbrush, processed in Photoshop. I attempted to give the impression of a lone individual, caught in the claustrophobic, existential moment, defined by a dreamlike state of paranoia and anxiety.

Vision Of Love
Mariah Carey
Treated me kind
Sweet destiny
Carried me through desperation
To the one that was waiting for me
It took so long
Still I believed
Somehow the one that I needed
Would find me eventually
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me
Prayed through the nights
Felt so alone
Suffered from alienation
Carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
So I believed
And now I know I've succeeded
In finding the place I conceived
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given me
I've realized the dream
And I visualized
The love that came to be
Feel so alive
I'm so thankful that I've received
The answer that Heaven has sent down to me
You treated me kind
Sweet destiny (and you know that you did)
And I'll be eternally grateful (oh, oh, ooh)
Holding you so close to me (prayed through the nights)
Prayed through the nights (so faithfully)
So faithfully (faithfully)
Knowing the one that I needed (no)
Would find me eventually (who would find me?)
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you've given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all... that you turned out to be

This is an archived photo (was taken 15+ years ago), however I want it in my flickr gallery.

The blur and distortion match the "groupspeech" of the world I live in which is blurred and distorted along with any right of reply. The framing is also intentional to reflect the marginalisation of the common "man".
Every child born is an equal inheritor of Planet Earth whatever "they" try to tell you to the contrary to shape and mould you to stop you from being all you can be, The freedom to hold and express own's own individual thoughts is a core part of one's identity. Tame that en masse and you clip the wings of the masses.
I originally took this shot to show the stationmaster the car in which a human had done his/her business. Perhaps too much information.

Argumentamos pertenencias,
Pero seguimos siendo los mismos
Inexpertos viajando a todos sitios,
Llegando a ninguna parte.

two excellent images from an art academy graduate, but the primitive spatial frame of his academy studio may limit the impact of the images ...
for layman it needs imagination to estimate the value of the pictures ...

So this is not my normal thing and probably the first and only time you will see one of these from me but I had to give it a go! Was very unsure on if I should even put it up but hey its all about the journey right!
So here is my attempt at "minimalist repetition". I was on a boat on the Thames and noticed this apartment block, The bright blue steel of the balconies and the absolute repetitive structure of linear lines vertically and horizontally. This is then broken by the white walls and the curved metal beams that run vertically downwards. The blue gutter on the left was out of place but added a non uniform element to the scene I thought.
Was quite fascinating so had to at least give it a go. This is definitely what I would call my "marmite" shot.

Wedding Day. Therese Martine (on both sides) and John Diedrich. An act of hope in difficult times. But hope did not have the last word and, in the end, their lives turned into alienation and torment. What are memories for? What are my memories for? To remember. To put together again what has fallen apart.
Double exposure made from two screen shots. The previous step was to directly photograph the very faded photo of 1918. It took some interventionist post-processing to restore the image and make it ready for the double-exposure. All shots were done with the X-Pro1 and the 90mm lens.

No painting, just different leaves with inverted colours. I hope Gertrude Stein forgives me the alienation of her citation.
America lost a leader this week. To his family he was simply a father, grandfather, mentor. And now he is gone.
Facing the holidays can be so painful for so many reasons. If someone you know is suffering, reach out. You don't have to say anything profound or do anything special. Let them know you are thinking of them, and that they are not alone.
Share the love. It is the greatest gift we can give.
Ian Kevin Curtis (born on July 15, 1956 – died 41 years ago, on 18 May 18, 1980) was an English singer-songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer and lyricist of the band Joy Division and recorded two albums with the group: Unknown Pleasures (1979) and Closer (1980). Curtis was known for his bass-baritone voice, dance style and songwriting typically filled with imagery of desolation, emptiness and alienation.
Curtis suffered from epilepsy and depression and died by suicide on the eve of Joy Division's first North American tour and shortly before the release of Closer.
Despite their short career, Joy Division have exerted a wide-reaching influence. (they) "became the first band in the post-punk movement by ... emphasizing not anger and energy but mood and expression, pointing ahead to the rise of melancholy alternative music in the '80s".
In 2002, NME named "Love Will Tear Us Apart" as the greatest single of all time, while Rolling Stone, in 2004 and 2011, named it one of the 500 best songs ever.

I like to experiment with digital alienation of photographs. The precise depiction of a reality that does not exist after all does not suit me. I want to make pictures, not take photos. As a photo, this picture would be just one of many others that I have already published here.
