Poor little thing! I almost step on him (unknowingly). But the good side is that he jumped in the water and stayed still. I had time to run to get my camera. When I came back, he was still there and stayed still (hoping I did not see him), which is perfect for taking pictures. A magic moment!
Pauvre petite bête! Je l'ai presque écrasé par inadvertance. Mais le bon côté est qu'il a sauté dans l'eau et que j'ai pu aller chercher ma caméra à toute vitesse. Quand je suis retournée où il était, il n'avait pas bougé (espérant certes que je ne le vois pas), ce qui était parfait pour prendre quelques clichés. Un moment magique.

On 23 May 2015, Kiesbauer hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Mirjam Weichselbraun and Alice Tumler at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.

I'm surprised that this aliasing effect doesn't occur more often. It's an artifact that's caused when some repeating pattern in the scene interferes with the regular pattern of pixels in the focal plane. Since color pixels in the focal plane are also in regular (Bayer) pattern, the effect can produce vivid rainbow-like colors. In this case, it is caused by the regular pattern of threads in the denim, and the upper left inset shows off the colorful moire patterns that result. I was thinking this was a problem with Bibble, the software I used to convert raw to jpeg, but I tried Nikon's proprietary conversion as well, and got the same effect.
Although this is kind of cool, in a geeky sort of way, it can also be annoying if you don't want it there. In this case, I made a second layer, and blurred it by something like 25 pixels, and used that second layer as color, masking off all but the offending area. I also applied a single pixel of spread noise, again just to the area shown. The result, seen in the upper right inset, does still have some residual aliasing, but it's not as noticeable.

ALIAS at work in the studio, preparing for his upcoming show FRAGMENTS opening March 26th in OPEN WALLS Gallery in Berlin.
Im Rahmen der Corona-Proteste veranstaltet der extrem rechte Verschwörungsideologe Thorsten Schulte mit seiner frisch gegründeten Partei „Die Direkte“ ab dem 05.04.2021 neue „Montagsdemos“, die an die antisemitischen Mahnwachen von 2014 anknüpfen und die historischen Montagsdemos der DDR instrumentalisieren. Unter dem Motto „Es Reicht!“ soll in den nächsten Wochen eine Vielzahl von Redner_innen eingeladen und explizit eine Querfront angesprochen werden. Strategisch ist das wohl auch der Versuch, sich zu profilieren und unter den Corona-Maßnahmengegner_innen Wahlvolk zu gewinnen. Obwohl die Bandbreite an angekündigten Redner_innen von COMPACT-Magazin-Herausgeber Jürgen Elsässer, über Ex-AfD Heinrich Fiechtner bis hin zum selbsternannten Linken Anselm Lenz - seines Zeichens „Demokratischer Widerstandskämpfer“ und Herausgeber einer verschwörungsideologischen Zeitung - reichte, fiel das Interesse an dieser Veranstaltung mit rund 300 Teilnehmer_innen bescheiden aus. Vor allem Dauer-Aktivist_innen gegen den Infektionsschutz und einige Neonazis aus dem Spektrum der Kleinpartei III. Weg, der NPD, für Jürgen Elsässer arbeitende Identitäre und Sven Liebich aus Halle, der als wandelnde Kunstfigur mit NS- und Shoah-Relativerung provoziert, hatten sich eingefunden.
Vom Publikum bejubelt, übertrafen sich die Redner_innen in der Verbreitung von Hass und Hetze. Hier fielen insbesondere die Reden von Jürgen Elsässer, Heinrich Fiechtner und „Geronimo“ auf, die Verschwörungserzählungen, antisemitische Chiffren und Gewalt - und Umsturzphantasien äußerten. Fiechtner trat theatralisch als eine Art Sven Liebich-Verschnitt auf, hob den Arm zum Hitlergruß, den er aber der Kanzlerin Merkel zuschrieb,- eine widerliche Gleichsetzung und Relativierung des Nationalsozialismus.
Währenddessen nutzten Thorsten Schulte und Eva Rosen ihre Redezeit, um sich mit jüdischen Kronzeugen gegen Kritik zu immunisieren oder in Lippenbekenntnissen von Antisemitismus zu distanzieren. Ebenfalls Redezeit erhielten hier der Reichsbürger und Chef der Kleingruppe „Widerstand für die Freiheit“ Olaf Brandt, der rücksichtslos vergnügungssüchtige Freedom-Parade-Veranstalter Michael Bründel alias „Captain Future“ und Autokorso-Veranstalter Dario Reeck, die alle versuchten hier Mitstreiter für eigene Veranstaltungen zu gewinnen. Der angekündigte Anselm Lenz war nicht vor Ort, er soll wegen Krankheit abgesagt haben.
Die Kundgebung drohte nach einer Ingewahrsamnahme Heinrich Fiechtners kurzzeitig aus dem Ruder zu laufen, als Teilnehmende geschlossen losmarschierten, um die Freilassung Fichtners zu erzwingen. Die in der Folge entstandene Unübersichtlichkeit nutzten dann insbesondere Neonazis um Sven Liebich aus, um Pressemenschen vulgär zu beleidigen und anzugreifen.
Wie sich diese Demo-Reihe in den nächsten Wochen entwickeln wird, bleibt abzuwarten. Offensichtlich ist, dass der Versuch einer Fortführung der Montagsmahnwachen sich bereits jetzt schon als eine extrem rechte Hass-Veranstaltung zeigt, der sich immer mehr Neonazis anschließen könnten.

On the way home me and my sister decide that we would rock a little photo project that we had been thinking of for while. We are huuuuuge Alias fans. Like crazy in love with that show. I've been wanting to do an Alias inspired photo since the summer. So in frigid temps we braved the cold. The light was from my car lights, something else I've been wanting to try out.

Berlin based ALIAS belongs to the few omnipresent street art artists who have managed to create a unique style. When one passes by his numerous works, which can be found spread all over the city (especially in Berlin’s districts such as Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg) one immediately knows whose signature they bear.
