El gobernador de Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, participó del acto por la Capitalidad organizado de por la Municipalidad de Viedma.
Seen on the front wall of a bldg in the Havana docklands. Don't know
what the blue stripes, imposed on the lower section, represent, but
the iconic Alberto Korda image of Che Guevara is considered the most
recognizable image in the world & has come to be a global symbol of
both the 20th century and of conflict. Guevara was 31 when Korda,
Castro's official photographer at the time, captured the original image,
from 30 ft away, when Guevara came into his frame for a few seconds
on Mar 5 1960 at a mass demonstration. For 7 years it hung on Korda's
own wall, as a personal favourite, until Italian publisher Feltinelli used it
on the cover of Guevara's "Bolivian Diaries", after his execution in Bolivia
in 1967. Thus its path to iconic status began. The link below shows the
original image, with a lot of interesting details of its evolution over the past
50 yrs. Wonder how many T-shirts sporting this image are out there? :))
