Taken for the Challenge 2013 group, this weeks subject being "Your version of a famous photograph or painting". I thought, if I'm going to do this, I might as well aim high - and there is nowhere higher (in my opinion) than Ansel Adams! Here is my take on his stunning 'Rose and Driftwood', taken in San Francisco in 1932 - you can see a reproduction of it here, www.anseladams.org/poster-19.html, but no screen is going to do it justice!

 

Mine is a red rose on a piece of natural driftwood, whereas the original was a pink rose on ply driftwood. The textures in the original are far superior to mine (obviously - it was taken by Ansel Adams!), but I'm quite pleased with this effort...
