*Working Towards a Better World
I have played around a great deal in this work trying to achieve my goal. Yes I have abstracted my photos and used Photoshop and other programs to create this work.

St John the Evangelist's Church is in Walton, Warrington, Cheshire, England. It was built as a private estate church towards the end of the 19th century but is now an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Great Budworth. Wikipedia
I was at the right place at the right time! Seeing this jet streaming toward the blue moon and I waited, then snap!!!

Hello everyone.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year for 2025.
I am still changing myself from a glass-half-empty kind of person to a glass-half-full kind of person. I am still building up confidence in myself to do what I can do, and chipping away my self-doubt. I am trying to get rid of the negativity, and trying to believe in the positivity.
Over the past few years, as my Photostream grow, I’ve watched the number of views every photos get, grows larger and larger. I’ve watched the number of Followers grow to more than 750 so far.
All of that is giving me a motivation to make an effort to do what I want to do.
I’m a deaf person. Here in the UK, back in the 1980s, there weren’t much human rights and disability rights, so when I told my family, hearing teachers at a deaf school, the social services, and the job advisors, that I want to get into college to study photography, and become a photographer…
They all were very negative, and not very supportive. It was a discrimination, pure and simple. It was like “No, you can’t be a photographer because you are deaf.”
“You can’t be a writer because you are deaf.”
“You can’t…” whatever is always followed by “…because you are deaf.”
All that negativity left me feeling self-doubt about myself, lack of confidence in myself. It actually took me about 10 years and maybe 5 different instructors, to finally pass my driving test.
During the 2000s to 2020s, I was a busy full time single parent, so my photography was put on hold for a while. I also had counselling seasons, to help me develop my self-confidence.
Now that my kids are older and left home, I decided to resume my career as a photographer. With more and more growing belief in myself, and chipping away my self-doubt, I’ve encouraged myself to make an effort to actually do photography.
I’m starting to believe that I can. I try to make an effort to roll up my sleeves, and get to do photography, in ways that I can. Not only because nowadays, with human rights and disability rights, but also because I start to believe in myself.
So with my growing confidence in myself, as part of my New Year’s Resolutions, I am studying how to start and run a business, for the purpose of going freelance. As soon as I’ve familiar myself with how to run a business, I aim to create a business plan, and aim to kick start my freelance business.
This is what the above photo is about, I got the books I needed, I’ve been reading some of them, studying them, and will start writing notes. For me, my resolutions for 2025 is to plan for going freelance.
In the meanwhile, I’m going to keep working on doing photography, expand my skills and my experience. I hope that if my Flickr account can grow, and motivate myself into doing more, then it will give me the motivation to do more.
Below the main subject in the above photo, is a few selected photos that acts like a preview of what I will be uploading in due course. Not only photos, but also a few graphic design work by using my own photos.
If any of you have similar experience, I wish you all many success in whatever your aims are, as you try to build up the belief in yourselves to be able to aim high and can do what you could do. Whatever your Resolutions for the New Year is, good luck and try your best.
Once again, wishing you all a Happy New Year.

"An arrow can only be shot by pulling it back. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great."
That's for all of my friends that are struggling with one thing or another.... let's all meet on the side of something great!!
Arrows are my most recent obsession. I love the way the shafts are painted, love the colors of the feathers and nock. I buy them whenever I see them and I really don't even care if the feathers are messed up... still cool! (as long as they are feathers and not those new plastic flex vanes that they are using instead of feathers now). I keep them in a vase on the table. They last longer than flowers. And they're cool!
At one of the last house sales I went to, I bought a big bundle of dowels, with the intention of making my own colorful, funky arrows. They will be totally non functional and useless. (who cares....when was the last time I shot archery anyway?) I think there will be quivers for them as well. I also think that they will be a long time in coming.... but I am thinking about them...along with that arrow quilt that I have the pattern for.... yeah, arrows... good stuff!

Just for today, aim as high as you possibly can. Think powerful, wonderful thoughts. Fly high above the tallest buidling with your dreams and enjoy every second of it. When you aim high, you will find that your world is much larger than you ever dreamed. There are so many new places and interesting people to be discovered and enjoyed! And, even if you miss the sky, you've still enjoyed a wonderful view -- much greater than your mind can imagine. We have a beautiful world -- take time to enjoy it!!!!
NOTE: Thanks so very much for your kind visits, comments, and invites. I've been working a hectic schedule, and haven't had time to visit you as I've wanted. But, today I will be around to say "hi" and to enjoy your many wonderful photos! I hope this is a fantastic day for everyone!

So we've got the final part of our triptych up today. Like the other parts it's detailing someone dealing with lockdown. Rachel here is in a different boat to the others however.
Rachel has a nice house, big garden, investment banker husband and has always been a high achiever. She's been attempting to treat the lockdown like an opportunity and was doing magnificently for the first two weeks. She's been acing home schooling and has even been teaching little Sebastian some basic Mandarin on the side but the cracks are beginning to show. She thought she heard Sebastian swear and almost burst into tears. She's now eyeing the bottle of gin in the drawing room. It's not even 11am.
So there you go. We all deal with lockdown differently. Just try not to be the guy in the second picture and we should all be fine.
Cheers

"Centre Memorial de Gisimba (Gisimba Memorial Center)
The Gisimba orphanage, located in the Nyamirambo quarter of Kigali, is led by Damas Mutezintare Gisimba. Damas's father founded the orphanage in 1980 with 18 children living in one house. Damas took over in 1986 after the death of his father. During the genocide Damas sheltered over 400 children and adults in the small orphanage compound from the predations of the interahamwe [the Hutu paramilitary squads that carried out much of the genocide]. Though the orphanage was repeatedly menaced, Damas and his colleagues held their ground and did not give in to the genocidaires. He has been honored for his heroism by the Rwandan government and many other organizations.
The orphanage currently houses over 150 children. Ten years ago almost all were genocide victims, but many of the newer arrivals have been orphaned by AIDS. Because their parents were HIV+, a number of them are also infected."

In letting Go…
First comes a feeling of emptiness
A darkness spreading inside
No poetry or melody
No one or thing to cling to
Except a feeling
A knowing
A Gnawing
To keep searching
For an answer
When at first the Song awakens
It is Love’s door opening
It is friend and family
It is angel and lord
It is heart and garden
Muse and medicine
All forms
Revealing the kingdom
Of Creation
Creator
Creating…

There are so many people, places, things we have to let go of in this life again and again. It's hard and frustrating to make sense out of these life events, and yet when seen in a bigger way, the garden of existence ushers in and out that which leads us onward. Staying grounded and centered and focused on what we want to experience, creates new opportunities, adventures and people to meet. Out of our highest aims, transformation and renewal comes. Every thing, person and place is a precious gift: a manifestation of the garden of life itself. This posting is dedicated to the young man who inspired me to remember this last night. Sometimes when someone else is hurting, underneath the words exchanged comes a deeper opportunity to grow. We feel ourselves an integral part of Creation instead a victim of it:
