Aggregate Industries class 59 diesel loco 59004 entering platform 17 at Clapham Junction on 2 August 2019 at the head of 7O68, Acton to Purley. The loco is named Paul A Hammond, who was the Managing Director of Yeoman Aggregates.
A distinctly autumnal look with bare branches and the ploughed field, but with temperatures into the low 80's, this was the warmest September day since 1908.

On Tuesday the loco, 66623, failed at Alfreton and it had to be rescues by another unit, 66518, sent down from Leeds, Balm Road to haul the working into Tinsley Yard making it over 5 hours late. the return working that day was cancelled as was the early, loaded working, back up the following day, Wednesday. The empties did however return on Wednesday and today, Thursday, we have another visitor on the working in the form of a class 70. In this first shot, just 3 minutes after the timetable showed the working was activated, the train left Tinsley Yard 20 minutes early and in the upper picture, amidst rampant, encroaching vegetation, is seen coming down-grade, along the old Broughton Lane exit from the Yard, once fully electrified for the Woodhead trains. To its left, just peeking out from the jungle is the dome of the Meadowhall shopping centre at the side of the M1 motorway, the only things missing from the shots in this direction these days, are the 'Tinsley Towers, the 2 cooling towers at the side of the M1 which were demolished in August 2008. To the left of the scene in the lower picture one of the Sheffield Supertram units passes by on the old GC formation, heading towards Meadowhall, but not all the way as the track has been taken up ahead for maintenance purposes, like the rail tracks around here, everything rail-related is apparently reaching time-expired status!

Concretions are post-depositional structures found in some sedimentary successions, particularly in shales. They vary in mineralogy, size, and shape, but often have slightly flattened spheroidal shapes. They typically form by post-depositional mineralization around some nucleus (a rock fragment or fossil fragment).
