On April 29th 2016, DB Cargo 66013 heading the 14:18 Peak Forest to Dallam stone passes what will be the route (from right to left) of the HS2 phase 2 route to Manchester Airport and Piccadilly. This scene at Ashley on the Mid-Cheshire Line will soon be transformed, undoubtedly consuming stone from innumerable trains.

66753 "EMD Roberts Road" passes through Mirfield on 31st May 2024 with 6M38 1125 Arcow Quarry to Bredbury Tilcon.

Mirfield is another location changing rapidly with the ongoing TRU work. Hopefully the result will be a service that can actually cope with the numbers of people that don't want to use the car between Manchester & Leeds....because on this day in question, a satisfactory pleasant journey was an unobtainable quest.
