The Tso Kar or Tsho kar, known for its size and depth, is a fluctuating salt lake situated in the Rupshu Plateau and valley in the southern part of Ladakh in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Due to the high altitude, the climate is extreme in the winter; temperatures below -40°C are not uncommon. In the summer the temperature rises above 30°C, with extreme fluctuations during the day. Precipitation in the form of either rain or snow is extremely rare.
The Tso Kar lies 160 km south of Leh; the Leh Manali road passes 30 km west of it. The lake is 540 km east of Srinagar, the capital of the state.

Shooting ladakh sky in night where the beautiful sky lights up with millions of stars twinkling upon us the sight is just beautiful but to see this beauty you have to go away from the light pollution which makes its hard for us to see the true beauty the universe have to offer us I in search of that went alone in the dark with just my camera and a Torch the darkness scared me at first but then I reach to this open field nothing but mountains ahead and starry sky above but I wanted something more so I walked a little ahead and thr I found this beautiful horse standing there I knew I had to capture this moment so I set up my gear and clicked this image hope u all like it. :)

Thiksay Gompa or Thiksay Monastery (also transliterated from Ladakhi as Tikse, Tiksey or Thiksey) is a gompa (monastery) affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is located on top of a hill in Thiksey village, approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of Leh in Ladakh, India. It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet and is the largest gompa in central Ladakh, notably containing a separate set of buildings for female renunciates that has been the source of significant recent building and reorganisation.
The monastery is located at an altitude of 3,600 metres (11,800 ft) in the Indus Valley. It is a twelve-story complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. One of the main points of interest is the Maitreya Temple installed to commemorate the visit of the 14th Dalai Lama to this monastery in 1970; it contains a 15 metres (49 ft) high statue of Maitreya, the largest such statue in Ladakh, covering two stories of the building.

Chitkul is a small village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It's a last village of India and situated in Indo-China border. Frankly speaking I never heard or visit this place before Rang Photography Workshop and Tour. If you think Shimla and Manali is most beautiful places of Himachal so you need to rethink and give a try to Chitkul and Triund/Mcleodganj.
Im already in love with triund landscape and nights. But chitul is more SHANT place, Unlike Mcleod City. surrounded with mountains and 1 beautiful Baspa River.
Chitkul is around 569 km from Delhi and 28 km from Sangla.

Zorats Karer (also called Karahunj, or Carahunge) is an archaeological site near the city of Sisian in the Syunik province of Armenia.
The site is located on a rocky promontory near Sisian. About 223 large stone tombs can be found in the area. It was explored by a team of archaeologists from the Institut für Vorderasiatische Archäologie, University of Munich who published their findings in 2000. They concluded that Zorakarer "was mainly a necropolis from the Middle Bronze Age to the Iron Age." The Munich archaeologists add that it may have served "as a place of refuge in times of war", possibly in the Hellenistic - Roman period (c. 300 BC - 300 AD). A wall of rocks and compacted soil (loam) was built around the site with vertical rocks plugged into it for reinforcement: today only these upright rocks remain.
About 80 of the stones feature a circular hole, although only about 50 of the stones survive. They have been of interest to Russian and Armenian archaeoastronomists who have suggested that they could have been used for astronomical observation. This was prompted by four of the holes pointing towards the point where the sun rises on midsummer's day and four others at the point where the sun sets on the same day. However, the holes are relatively unweathered and may not be prehistoric in origin.

February 16, 2013 - Yellowstone National Park. This is a scene I captured while trekking through Yellowstone National Park during my Winter Adventour Escape. This particular shot was taken while walking along the Fountain Paint Pot Nature Trail. The Fountain Paint Pot area contains many marvelous geological wonders, including this Hot Spring - the Silex Spring. The origin of the Silex Spring begins deep beneath the Earth's crust. Heat from molten rock rises up through solid rock, and heats up circulating ground water. The heated ground water rises to the surface by following cracks and fissures upwards. What you see here is the hot water breaking the Earth's surface, and forming a wonderful looking Hot Spring. The warm water looked particularly inviting - especially since it was bitterly cold when I took this shot. BUT... the smell of burning sulfur made me think twice about jumping in.

Lake Sevan (Armenian: Սևանա լիճ: Sevana Lich) is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world.
Lake Sevan is situated in the central part of the Republic of Armenia, inside the Gegharkunik Province, at the altitude of 1900m above sea level. The total surface area of its basin is about 5000 km2, the lake itself is 940 km2, and the volume is 34.0 bln cubic meters. It is fed by 28 rivers and streams. Only 10% of the outgoing water is drained by the Hrazdan (Razdan) river, while the remaining 90% evaporates.
Along with Lake Van and Lake Urmia, Sevan was one of the three great lakes of the historical Armenian Kingdom, collectively referred to as the Seas of Armenia; it is the only one within the boundaries of today's Republic of Armenia. The Sevanavank peninsula (formerly an island) is the historic area of the lake at its northern shores.

Noravank is a 13th century Armenian Apostolic Church monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu river, nearby the city of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey S. Astvatsatsin church, which grants access to the second floor by way of narrow stones jutting out from the face of building. The monastery is sometimes called Amaghu-Noravank, Amaghu being the name of a small recently destroyed village above the canyon, in order to distinguish it from Bgheno-Noravank, near Goris. In the 13th–14th centuries the monastery became a residence of Syunik's bishops and, consequently. a major religious and, later, cultural center of Armenia closely connected with many of the local seats of learning, especially with Gladzor's famed university and library.

Little Ararat, also known as Mount Sis or Lesser Ararat is the sixth tallest peak in modern Turkey. It is a large satellite cone located on the eastern flank of the massive Mount Ararat, less than five miles west of Turkey's border with Iran. Despite being dwarfed by its higher and far more famous neighbor, Little Ararat is a significant volcano of its own with an almost perfectly symmetrical, conical form and smooth constructional slopes. It rises about 1,200 m (4,000 ft) above the saddle connecting it with the main peak.

Garni is a temple complex located in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, situated approximately 32 km southeast from Yerevan.
The systematic excavation of the site has unearthed six successive occupation layers. The earliest traces of habitation date back to the eneolithic period. A Bronze Age and a Classical layer followed by three distinct medieval layers complete the occupation history of the site.
The peristyle temple is situated at the edge of the existing cliff. It was excavated in 1909-1910 but the full publication of its architecture appeared only in 1933. It has been surmised that it was constructed in the 1st century AD by the King Tiridates I of Armenia, probably funded with money the king received from emperor Nero during his visit to Rome.

I took a bike tour in Boston with a company called Urban Adventours.. had a wonderful time.
I think that biking is possibly the best way to see places.. It offers the opportunity to see sights, people, smell smells, experience buildings in a way that is similar to walking, but much faster. If there is one thing I hate, it is being stuffed in a tour bus with my face plastered to the window separated from the place I am visiting.
