My church, St. Mary's Alverstoke, has a Christmas tree festival every year. Local groups all decorated their trees this last week and take them away tomorrow.
Wir sagen euch an den lieben Advent.
Sehet, die dritte Kerze brennt.
Nun tragt eurer Güte hellen Schein
weit in die dunkle Welt hinein.
Freut euch, ihr Christen! Freuet euch sehr.
Schon ist nahe der Herr.
Ich wünsch' euch einen schönen 3. Advent
I forgot to post this yesterday for first Sunday in Advent!
Inês still wants it to be October and Hallowe'en, but time marches on and now it's almost December!

The Advent wreath has a diameter of 45-50mm (less than two inches). That's real fir, wrapped around a wire ring, held with 0.3mm copper wire. The candles are made from a shashlik spit with 2.5mm (tenth of an inch) diameter. Drilled holes in the tops, glued a thread, painted it red and dripped candle wax all over (especially over my fingers. ouch!)
I needed it for yesterday's Toy Project photo, this is just a bit of active recycling.

An irresistible ritual, last thing at night, was to steal the treat from tomorrow's advent drawer.
We're Here, mired in Xmas dysfunction.

Oh Come on! Pelcomb Portraits.
Der Advent 2023 war der letzte für die 151 in Diensten von DB Cargo. Hier zieht ein Exemplar einen Hagener Mischer von Seelze kommend durch den winterlichen Wunstorfer Bahnhof.
Last December was also the last December for the Class 151 in the Sale-and-Lease-Back-Service for Railpool/DB Cargo. One of the old locomotives hauled a mixed freight train from Seelze to Hagen-Vorhalle (if I am right) through Wunstorf.
Az adventi időszak egyik nagynépszerűségnek örvendő látványossága a Miskolcon közlekedő Tátra (ČKD Tátra KT8D5, 202) típusú adventi villamos, mely hasonlóan a többi nagyvároshoz, főként itt is a decemberi időszak során közlekedik.

One of the essential Christmas traditions in Germany: Advent candles
The Germans light them every Sunday before Christmas.
One candle per Sunday, every Sunday before Christmas.
Lovely tradition
On the 22nd Day of Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar the Imperial Stormtroopers are ready for their mission.
However the recent funding bill brought a reduction of this unit’s budget and their transport has been downsized a little bit.
The Empire’s hobby of building super weapons is surely a very expensive one and the fact they tend to blow up does not help.
It’s the same old story: you build a super weapon, you store the blueprints in a high security installation, then some Rebel infiltrate the installation, a battle follow, the plans get stolen.
End of story: the installation is severely damaged and the super weapon is blown up shortly after. You lose your new toy, you lose a lot of credits.
The Stormtroopers know it very well and so they “embark” (namely they sit on, one per turn) their new shuttle without complaining.
By the time they reach their destination the Empire would build another super weapon, they will store the blueprints in a high security installation, then some Rebel will infiltrate the installation, a battle will follow, the plans will be stolen, the super weapon will blow up and the cycle will go on…
Someone would call it “cosmic justice”, which in the Star Wars universe should be known as… the will of the Force.
May the Brick be with You :)
