APS film (short for “Advanced Photo System”) was marketed as the next big thing in film photography in 1996. An innovative 24mm film, APS was able to deliver sharper images despite its smaller size due to the “information exchange” process in which the camera recorded data directly on the film; this would simplify cropping prints to a desired aspect ratio and potentially could provide photofinishers with exposure data to optimize print quality*, and its cassette housing eliminated common loading errors. But by 2011, it had been discontinued. To understand why the leading film and camera brands bet on APS and lost, we’ll take a look at the APS timeline, from concept to grave.

A little summer project I'm doing with any little free time I have. I'm going to try my best to make an illustration of everything on and around my work station. Giving Photoshop a break... This is all prep for the two vector courses I'm taking in the fall. Hello Illustrator

I always keep my Visine handy for those dry red and tired eyes. First of the series. Everything was built from scratch in Illustrator. The baby blue shades on the label and the texture was done and imported from Photoshop.

Here at the Bow Interchange roundabout, at the end of Cycle Superhighway 2, there's a big blue space in front of the lights where cyclists can wait. The only problem is, they can't get there because queueing traffic blocks the cycle lane.

An ambulance parked outside a dressing station. The dressing station appears to have been set up in the ground floor of a partly demolished building, possibly a mansion or a municipal building as it has quite ornate stairs going up in an arc on either side of the door. The notice above the door is obscured by the Red Cross flag but appears to read, ' Post[e?] Chi..'.

The ambulance appears to be a Siddely-Deasy, but unlike some of those used earlier in the war, the front of the cab is closed and more protected. At the beginning of the war, there was no standardisation and there were considerable difficulties in repairing vehicles. Later, the British Red Cross laid down some basic standards.

Argonne chemist Trevor Dzwiniel runs an experiment on a reaction calorimeter in Argonne’s Materials Engineering and Research Facility (MERF). The reaction calorimeter gives Argonne researchers the ability to precisely measure how much heat is generated by a chemical reaction. MERF and several other Argonne research facilities form an integral part of the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research.
