HMM!

The boardwalk in Yankee Springs Recreational Area.

How lovely are flowers adorning the streets.

A spectacular array of colors adorn the hills of Artists Palette.

Tucked behind an unassuming yellow landscape, the rainbow of Artists Palette is the highlight along the Artists Drive Scenic Loop. Here, visitors marvel at an array of colors (red, orange, yellow, blue, pink, and green), splashed across the hills. These colors are from volcanic deposits rich in compounds such as iron oxides and chlorite, which creates a rainbow effect.

Stunning not only at Artists Palette, the Artists Drive loop winds through hills carved by the erosive power of water, and gives vistas of both the rugged Black Mountains and swirling white salt flats. While no maintained trails exist along this loop, several pull outs provide safe parking areas from which to explore this unique landscape on foot.

Although Artists Drive and Artists Palette are beautiful any time of day, sunrise and sunset provide additional shadows and changing light, further enhancing the allure of this incredible place.

When visiting Artists Palette, allow approximately 30 minutes to detour from Badwater Road along the one-way Artists Drive Scenic Loop. The drive begins 8.5 miles (13.7 km) south of the Hwy 190/Badwater Rd. junction and has a length restriction of 25 ft. (7.6 m) due to sharp bends and large dips.

A wonderful burst of colour adorned this tree as a young branch fanned a multi autumnal shade show. Taken in Hillock Wood, Princes Risborough

One of several adorning the north and south ends of the lake which fade into wetlands, and bearing the unmistakable and unerring touch of the master of landscape design, Mother Nature. The yellow nuphar lilies abound in certain areas and are extensively harvested by muskrats for which they must be a delicacy. Interestingly, they leave the white nymphaea alone.

By the way, Star, almost immediately after posting her photo yesterday, strolled in and presented me with her first mouse captured in some time, setting me off in my typical chase around the house, box in hand for the recapture, while she calmly sat licking her paws, clearly proud in her accomplishment and suggesting that if I thought she had lost a step, I was sadly mistaken. A rare (if ever) daytime hunting success, the reward offered apparently as thanks for the post...;-)

It is a surprise to see that there are still roses, who want to bloom.

Wishing every one a lovely week ahead with this autumn rose, still a bud, but nevertheless…… ;-))

Taken down by two overflow ponds in Okotoks, Calgary where, in the warmer weather an abundance of wildlife enjoy the water and trees including the Red Winged Blackbird with its beautiful call. The place is not the same without them.

Now Mule Deer roam freely through the estates searching for food. The temperature has been as low as -21C during three last three weeks when there has been snow on the ground providing scenes like this.

The Bald River is a major tributary of the Tellico River located in the southern district of the Cherokee National Forest. The Bald River empties into the Tellico River and cascades over rocks forming a large waterfall, Bald River Falls, reported to be 90 to 100 feet high. The waterfall is easily visible from a bridge across the river on the scenic Tellico River Road (Forest Service Road 210).

The Alte Harburger Elbbrücke (Old Harburg Elbe Bridge) is another historic structure located in the Harburg district of Hamburg, Germany. Completed in 1899, this bridge was part of a major infrastructural effort to connect Hamburg with the southern regions across the Elbe River.

Its steel arch design, adorned with riveted construction, stands as a masterpiece of industrial engineering from the late 19th century. While modern bridges nearby now handle most of the traffic, the Alte Harburger Elbbrücke has been preserved as a cultural and architectural landmark. It is still accessible for pedestrians and cyclists, making it a wonderful place for a stroll and exploration. (Quelle/source: Internet)

“Taught from their infancy that beauty is woman's sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn its prison.”

jugando llamarán;

pero aquellas que su vuelo refrenaban

tu hermosura y mi dicha al contemplar,

aquellas que aprendieron nuestros nombres,

esas... ¡no volverán!

sus flores se abrirán;

pero aquellas cuajadas de rocío,

cuyas gotas mirábamos temblar

y caer, como lágrimas del día...

esas... ¡no volverán!

Volverán del amor en tus oídos

las palabras ardientes a sonar;

tu corazón de su profundo sueño

tal vez despertará;

como yo te he querido... desengáñate,

¡así no te querrán!

(GUSTAVO ADOLFO BECQUER. Rimas.)

A long horned beetle on a very rainy day.
