I reproduced this classic Ski Italy poster in Adobe Illustrator. I added in a faux ink stamp for "vintage realism".

Since Reed Bond and Jordie Bellaire are doing 'Where the Wild Things Are' illustrations for terribleyelloweyes.com, I figured I should too. I always thought it was interesting that Max's mother was never shown, so I decided to draw her. Without her, Max would have never been forced to go to his room and sail for a year and a day...

Do something creative every day | Part 31 | M&M's
Simple graphic. I thought about this while eating trail mix tonight.
I was very excited to see that the Benjamin Button movie poster that I submitted to the Minimal Movie Poster blog was featured today. I love that blog and feel great that they liked my work. You can see it here: Benjamin Button movie poster on Minimal Movie Posters.

I really like metal. So when I heard that Chimaira were coming to town, I got more than a little excited. I'm not the biggest fan of theirs, but I'd seen them open for All That Remains a year ago and they nearly outshined their headliners with a third of the stage time! Bearing all that in mind, I knew I needed to do something brutal for their poster.
So, after doing a bit of research (thank you, Wikipedia), I found that they took their name from the Greek Monster Chimera, which is (as Wikipedia describes it) a lioness with the tail of a snake and the head of a goat protruding out of its back. It is a transmogrified monster with a bad attitude. But since I thought just drawing that wouldn't be metal enough, I combined that with the idea of a serial killer. And this is what came out the other end.
A naked man with a carving knife who sprouted a demonic goat-head which then proceeded to possess him before cutting off his own head.
I like it.
Check it out again, along with a few sketches on milestsang(dot)com.
