A home made fixture from the 80's helps position the mount in the appropriate place.

I built this frame a few years ago. It's in for a repaint and the owner wanted a braze on mount added.

The frame will be on the alignment table after this, then into the paint room.

The engineer and fireman for 475 appear to be adjusting the whistle during a lunch break at the Strasburg station. I say this because the pitch of the whistle on the run-bys for our charter definitely seemed to have change sharply after lunch. These two, as well as the other engineers and firemen were really great all day long.

After reading and practicing some new processing techniques, this image is a continuation of the theme of expanding dynamic range. In this case I used a combination of HDR and saturation, luminosity and layer blending to combine 2 exposures taken at 30s and 10s, f11 (2.5 stops). It was dark enough that I couldn't see any details in the rocks but could make out the general shape and thought they might provide a good lead into the frame. I used a combination of techniques taught in the books and tutorials by Vincent Versace, Tony Kuyper, and Zack Schnepf. Obviously they are all far more accomplished but at least I can try and it's all fun to learn. All comments and discussion are welcome and have a wonderful day.
