This piece has gothic feel and style to it because the chandelier reminds me of just that. For added focus, i've included a red glass faceted drop bead.

I added a local adjustment and basically brought down the exposure, highlights, and whites down on the scale making that certain local spot darker. I wanted to make the brighter areas darker like the street and the edge of the building on the right while keeping the green brighter, like the tree. So I took that local adjustment I made and selected it everywhere I wanted to darken.

We took a trip up to North Wales recently for a wedding. The ceremony took place inside Llanfair Slate Caverns, and we stayed on the Gwynant campsite opposite Mount Snowdon.

Photo #1

Objective 3:

1. Rule of Thirds: The rule of thirds is in this photo in that the subject is to the side, and it’s the most prominent thing that the eyes are drawn to.

2. Perspective and depth: The angle that this was taken at gives the viewer a taste of what the subject was looking at in this picture.

5. Leading Lines: The lines of the ski hill make an interesting background that adds to the perspective in the photo.

Objective 4: The picture has hard lighting. It gives the subject more prominence in the photo.

Objective 5:

This photo was resized, exposure was adjusted a small amount, brightness and contrast were adjusted, and levels also contributes.

Objective 6: Critique

Strength: The colors and the lighting really work in it. I also like the angle.

Area for growth: I really don’t like how I edited this, and would go much more subtle next time. The background is also a little too busy.
