Post-Processing: Topaz DeNoise and Adjust 4
In order to maintain good scores, a properly adjusted sling is important. This gentleman is one of the best marksmen I've had the pleasure of watching.
My self-guided project was using the same picture and altering it in photoshop however, focusing specifically on how I could manipulate and change the original colors within the photograph whether it was the subjects or background. Prior to my project I spent some time observing the art concept of color theory and how the color wheel works. This influenced me to incorporate a concept with color into my project although, I wanted my project to also be photoshop based as I haven’t done a lot of projects that way. This project reflects my personal likes as I love seeing how different colors look with each other and also how gradients work. Some new skills I learned over the course of this was: learning how to use the gradient tool and map thoroughly, how to effectively use curves and black & white adjustments, and how to use clipping masks in photoshop. I also gained knowledge of how the blending modes in photoshop work. At first I couldn’t figure out how to keep the shadows form the original picture when using the gradient tool so I learned how to use the gradient map which kept more of the originals shadows intact for background changes. My project was successful in the sense that I learned new photoshop skills and knowledge along with getting to brush up on my old skills. If I were doing this project again I would put focus into working with added shadows rather than using only the original ones and focusing only on color manipulation.
Adjusting the mask.
Miette put on weight rapidly due to dexamethasone. So the mask was so tight, she would be in tears and her face would be red/blocthy after each session. She DIDN'T complain though.
However they did make it a little bigger.

I thought I'd try to paint something other than abstracts and here's the result, It's my first figurative mixed media painting so it's obvious I need more practise, but beeing my first I have to go easy on myself, so I'll say I'm quite happy with it :) I collaged the houses and the rest is acrylic paint, pastels and pen :)
Just experimenting with still life.

On April 18, 2010, it really happened. I walked the entire 3.2-mile WalkMS in a dress and high heels. To be honest, I wasn’t sure I could walk the whole way with the shoes, and seriously considered taking them off a couple of times. But I knew that at the end of the Walk, I can take the shoes off and the discomfort would eventually go away. My wife, and everyone else with multiple sclerosis, doesn’t have that luxury. So I just kept walking. One step at a time.
Thank you so much for everyone who sponsored me – your donation is helping to make the National MS Society an even better resource for people with multiple sclerosis. Thank you very much for everyone who walked with me on our team – I’m glad you didn’t mind going so slow. Thank you to everyone who has enthusiastically responded to this whole thing – every message I received really inspired and touched me. Thank you to Lan Yin “Eiko” Tsai for inspiring the look of my ensemble. And most of all, thank you to my wife for encouraging me and understanding the very serious ‘why’ behind this silliness.
