Lego is the only way to go with casting work. It fits together tightly, is easy to disassemble, and can be built to almost any dimension.
I need some decently sized Adeptus Mechanicus symbols for a terrain project I'm working on. The problem? No one makes the damn things any more. So, the only solution is to make my own.
I'm building the base model out of balsa wood and other stuff I have lying around the place, then I'll take a mould off it and make as many as I need! Theoretically :)
I've been collecting Adeptus Mechanicus models for a while with the thought that one day I'll build an army. With the new Imperial Guard book coming out I thought I would try out some models and see how easy/hard it would be to make a decent army.
The greens are not very smooth and there are some other obvious issues but - it's a decent attempt.

This is (almost) all of the models and terrain that I painted in 2020.It's a lot more than I've managed in any other year (unless you count the Epic scale Space Marines I painted many years ago), so that's one thing 2020 had going for it.
(The models absent from the lineup are a Mekboy Workshop and its resident Mekboy, which are no longer in my possession.)
Legs and pelvis assembled.
The finished model will be able to be broken down for transport - the legs aren't attached to the base, they're held on with magnets. The torso will also attach with magnets, hence the washers at the top and under the feet.
Kitbashing an innocent Dreadknight into an Adeptus Mechanicus Knight Titan - simply because I can.
