Vieilles de 65.000 années, les grottes de Beni Add, nichées à près de 1200 mètres d'altitude, se trouvent à une vingtaine de kilomètres de Tlemcen.

Depuis 2006, les visiteurs peuvent à nouveau contempler un décor hors du commun où règne une température constante de 13°.

La partie ouverte au public plonge à près de 60 mètres sous le niveau du sol et s'étale sur 700 mètres de longueur. Par endroits, la voûte est à 18 mètres au-dessus de nos têtes.

Selon certains, les galeries s'étendent, jusqu'au Maroc, sur 145 km en passant par « Ghar Boumaâza » où le cours de la rivière Tafna souterraine fait surface.
