Taken at Clackmannan Tower on an incredibly windy day, we had to hide behind one of the walls, which somewhat limited what we could do.

I managed to set up a flashgun on a lightstand with an umbrella by using my camera bag to weigh down the bottom.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood’s Third Two-Week Session of

Young Actors/Young Artists Begins Monday, July 7

Hollywood, Fla. - The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood begins the third two-week session of the summer camp, “Young Actors and Young Artists” on Monday, July 7. During this program, children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old will gain performing and visual art-making skills. This session concludes on Friday, July 18.

Parents have the option of enrolling their children into either half-day or full-day sessions. From 9 a.m. to noon, the “Young Actors” participate in storytelling, movement, drama, improvisation, music, costume and set design, and more. Between 1 and 4 p.m., the “Young Artists” explore drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, printmaking and more. At the end each session, family and friends enjoy a presentation and exhibition. All classes are taught at the Center’s Arts School, located at 1626 Harrison St., Hollywood.

This will be the third of five two-week sessions of the “Young Actors and Young Artists.” Each session is inspired by a theme, so students can choose to participate in some or all sessions. Session three emphasizes the theme, “Birds of a Feather … Create Together.” This camp follows State Standards used in Florida public schools.

Camp prices per session for half-day students are $300 for members and $325 for non-members. For full-day students, the price is $400 for members and $425 for non-members. There are a limited number of partial scholarships available for qualifying families. Awards are given on a first-come, first-serve basis and may not be available for all sessions. To apply, download an application at ArtAndCultureCenter.org/summer-camp. To register or receive more information, please contact the Center at 954.921.3274 or visit ArtandCultureCenter.org.

The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood presents contemporary gallery exhibitions, live stage performances and high-quality education programs for adults and children. The Center fosters a creative environment where new and challenging work can flourish through programs that reflect the highest standards of artistry and diversity.

Summer Arts Camp is funded in part by the Florida Theatrical Association. Reduced tuition scholarships are funded in part by the Adele Youngstrom Charitable Fund, Publix Super Markets Charities, and a Community Partnership Grant from the City of Hallandale.
