Ferry Sikla, born Ferdinand Silberberg (* 11 March 1866 in Hamburg; † 8 February 1932 in Dresden), was a German stage and screen actor.
The trained goldsmith trained as a singer and made his stage debut in 1885. Soon afterwards, he made a career in Berlin. The corpulent actor mainly appeared as a comedian in boulevard plays. In 1912, he took over the management of the Residenztheater in Berlin.
In 1914, Sikla made his film debut in Die falsche Zaza (edmund Edel), with Hanni Weisse in the lead. In the following years, he appeared in numerous silent films, mainly in the roles of well-to-do uncles, bankers, councillors of commerce and other wealthy citizens. In 1917-1918 he acted as sidekick in several Hella Moja and Hedda Vernon comedies such as Das Mädel von nebenan (Otto Rippert, 1917), Die Narbe am Knie (Hubert Moest, 1917) and Puppchen (Hubert Moest, 1918). He also acted opposite Mia May in Der schwarze Chauffeur (Joe May, 1917), Veritas Vincit (Joe May, 1918), and Tragödie der Liebe (Joe May, 1922/23). In 1918, Sikla appeared several times alongside or under the direction of Ernst Lubitsch, for example Der Rodelkavalier, Das Mädel vom Ballett and Der Fall Rosentopf. In Lubitsch's 1918 comedy Ich möchte kein Mann sein he appeared as Ossi's uncle, played by Ossi Oswalda. In the late 1910s, Sikla also acted in various comedies with Arnold Rieck, Lia Ley and Hanne Brinkmann.
In the early 1920s Sikla remained very active in films opposite Esther Carena, Emil Birron, Hanni Weisse, Erika Glässner, Ossi Oswalda, Aud Egede Nissen. and others. In the later 1920s his roles became less frequent but he still had important parts in e.g. Komödianten (Karl Grune, 1924/25), Die Kleine vom Varieté (Hanns Schwarz, 1926), Unfug der Liebe (Robert Wiene, 1928) and Jennys Bummel durch die Männer (Jaap Speyer, 1929). His only two sound films, Die Firma heiratet (1930) and Der Liebesarzt (1931), also marked Sikla's farewell to film.
In later years, Sikla enjoyed playing in operetta performances at the Rotterbühnen in Berlin, an association of several boulevard theatres, and also appeared at the Theater des Westens.
