Misha Tyutyunik’s colorful mural was inspired by feedback from local residents and marks the transformation of the Beverley Road Open Street into an extension of the permanent Kensington Pedestrian Plaza. Tyutyunik asked residents to imagine their community through symbols, words and colors and created this design highlighting community through subtly interlaced imagery of faces, fresh fruit, homes, flowers, sun, moon and stars. DOT Art partnered with the DOT Public Space Unity and the artist on the project located at Beverley Road between Church Avenue and East 2nd Street in Kensington, Brooklyn.
