On November 27, 1989, Pablo Escobar ordered a bomb to be placed on an Avianca jet flying from Bogota to Cali to kill then presidential candidate Cesar Gaviria.
107 passengers on Avianca Flight 203 on Boeing 727-2 with license plates HK 1803 were killed within minutes of take-off by a powerful explosion. The plane, bound for Cali, took off at 7:13 a.m. and fell to pieces in the municipality of Soacha at 7:17 a.m., when it was over 10,000 feet.
Although Gaviria was not on the flight, Julio Santo Domingo and Alberto Prieto would occupy seats 15F and 15E. Those tickets were bought just one day before the flight by alias Memín, a man trusted by Pablo Escobar, according to a report by the Foundation Colombia con Memoria.
Prieto was allegedly given a briefcase and told that it was a tape recorder, which he simply had to turn on when they were in the air, to obtain the conversation of the passengers in row 14. Four minutes after takeoff, the man activated the recorder, and the plane exploded.
The scene was heartbreaking, the victims were only identified by the airline's record, since all the bodies were unrecognizable. In Soacha, only pieces of the plane, clothes and other elements of the luggage of the deceased could be seen, whose relatives found out about the tragedy by listening, one by one, to their names on the radio.

Abstract: Although exosomes were first described as cellular waste in the late 1980s, their role in cellular communication has been revealed by recent studies. In addition to components such as DNA, RNA, and protein, it is thought that it may also be associated with the immune system, as it contains tetraspanins such as CD9, CD81, and major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. Therefore, it has been seen as a new source for immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is one of the methods used for colon cancer, which is one of the most common and deadly cancers, where traditional treatments are insufficient. In our study, we first performed exosome isolation from the CaCo-2 cell line, then lymphocyte (T lymphocyte) activation by the exosome. Then, we counted the activated lymphocytes (10,000, 20,000, 40,000, and 80,000 cells) and applied them to the CaCo-2 cell line in vitro. After 48 hours, we performed viability (MTT), antioxidant (TAC), oxidant (TOS) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) analyzes. Exosome characterization was demonstrated with TEM, SEM, and AFM images. According to our results, it was seen that the lymphocytes activated by exosomes act at similar rates with the lymphocytes activated by IL-2. In the groups given 80,000 cells, a significant decrease was observed in the viability and antioxidant level of the cancer line, while an increase in oxidant and lactate levels was observed. The tumor-suppressive properties of exosomes obtained from immune cells have been demonstrated in the literature.
