Less than a week from Independence Day, this photo shows a temporary business that is selling fireworks large and small. During the past generation in the state of Michigan, lobbyist efforts have led to less restrictions on dates and type of explosives that may be legally sold, bought, and used. In response for the proliferation of potential injuries and public noise nuisance, many towns and villages have created local ordinances to restrict the use of fireworks to a 3 day period (day of July 4, as well as 24 hours before and after that day). The hours are limited, too: not permitted in the city limits after 11 p.m., for example. Of course it is not always easy to enforce the rules or issue (and document) violations, although ubiquitous cellphone video or photos are admissible evidence.
Since many pets have instinctive anxiety about random violent sound, veterinarians commonly prescribe tranquilizing drugs. Other pet owners hunker down, barricaded with the animal(s) in the quietest part of their living space. With the thousands of PTSD ex-military people coming out of the generation of armed conflict in SW Asia, a few state parks and campgrounds have been designated "no firework" zones so that these injured people have a place unlikely to be harmed.
Before the state laws being changed for the benefit of sellers and buyers of the explosives, Michiganders would be forced to smuggled them across the state lines from places more permissive about selling them. That illicit character added a small thrill to the whole risky business. Whether legal or illegal, though, every year there are destroyed eardrums, severed fingers, and blindness caused by wrongful uses.

Next up was Pipeline, I came to check out the awesome wood feature ( apparently one of the largest wood feature on the shore ♂️ ) but sadly it was closed. On the bright side it’s being rebuilt to its former glory. Trail was still fun to ride and this is where I landed my first flat, thankfully on the last 100m.

Taken with a cheap action cam, with the M12 fisheye lens switched to a much longer telephoto (50mm) focal length M12 lens. Powered from mains electric.
The rugged 2010 Tachyon XC video camera mounted on the side of the mask with the included side mount. This gives you a full 90 degree view of the action, leaving your hands free for your gun.

This hole is actually round, although it may not look like it in this photo. Inside case was cleaned after having drilled this microphone hole. The hole will be covered with a small piece of soft foam to cut down on dust or wind buffeting (external noise).
