Located in Good Hart, Michigan (just south of the famous Legs Inn at Cross Village, Michigan), the Saint Ignatius Catholic Church has been around for many generations. For years and years, many Native Americans of the area were buried in what eventually became unmarked graves next to the church. Several years ago the grounds keeper took it upon himself to make these white crosses and place them throughout the graveyard out of respect for those souls that rested at unmarked graves. There are a few marked grave sites scattered here and there. A wonderful place to visit any time of year.

The history of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Good Hart, Michigan began with a Jesuit mission established in the Odawa village of Middle Village in 1741. The first wooden church was dedicated in 1833 by Bishop Frederic Baraga, but it was destroyed by a fire in 1889. The current wooden church was immediately built on the same site and dedicated in September 1889. The adjacent cemetery has been in use since at least the 1700s and contains many unmarked graves that were marked with white crosses in the late 20th century.

When all the colorful leaves have left the trees in our area, the bronzes, browns, and beiges remain for months.

Built between 1829 and 1834, Victoria Street was designed by architect Thomas Hamilton in the old Flemish style with imposing facades and prominent arches. The street replaces one of the city's main thoroughfares, the West Bow, a frighteningly steep Z-shaped cleft, providing much easier access from the Grassmarket to Castlehill. Named Bow Street until 1837, it took its final name in 1937 when Queen Victoria acceded to the throne.

Edinburgh's Old Town is full of stories and mysteries, this area is no exception. A man nicknamed the “Wizard of the West Arc,” Major Weir, who lived in the neighborhood, was executed for witchcraft in 1670. No wonder more than 4,000 suspected witches were put to death in this resort town inexhaustible for any author in search of inspiration. J.K. Rowling seems to have drawn inspiration from her Victoria Street novels to describe Diagon Alley: that slightly crooked alley where Harry Potter and his wizarding friends buy school supplies before going to Hogwarts: Take a good handful of powdered Floo, speak loud and clear, and say Diagon Alley! With its old cobblestones, its shops, its colorful buildings and its pointed roofs, this old street corresponds in every way to the description. Muggles can visit a store playing on this anecdote: the Diagon House (Diagon Alley is called Diagon Alley in the original version). Fun fact, there was, in the 1990s (the year the first volume was written), a bank and a bookshop/stationery on this street, roughly located in the same place as the Gringotts bank and the shop of Fleury and Boot in Diagon Alley. Today you will find many cafes, shops of all kinds and one of the oldest bookstores in the city.

The Monster of Thalia Hall lurks in a rustic red

Speaks blue volumes

His name is Ernesto

He loves all the musicians who play below him

Watches over them protectively

Hip hop, rock, folk, and pop

Laughs uproariously at their banter about taco bars.

Then notices fans as the crowd lingers

Points at various audience members

With squiggly shadow fingers

Who need to just put down their phones and

Enjoy the magic feeling.

"What are you photographing on the ceiling?"

No one’s playing up there and and the

Paint is really peeling.

Everything is in complete disrepair.

You may not understand.

You may not even care.

But I see monsters everywhere.

To celebrate the day, I'm adding another golden bridge, the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne.

It's not quite as warm here as in Budapest, but it's still a lot warmer than here in East Saxony.

After all, the city was at least once an important residence of the Roman Empire, which is almost Mediterranean. At that time it had the rather impressive name "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium" and was the capital of the province of Germania under Emperor Claudius.

In the background, no less important for the city's history and the city's landmark, the Cologne Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in the world and with a height of 157.22 meters after the cathedral in Ulm and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Paix third tallest church in the world.

The construction time of more than 600 years is also quite record-breaking. Apparently we Germans have always been pretty good at that part.

Stirling Castle, is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally.

Dynamic yellow metal nets on a pair of table tennis tables in the relxation zone beside the Flinders University building in Tonsley.

I visited the place after finding out that it won an international architecture award for adaptive reuse.. All that remains of the old Mitsubishi car factory is its metal framework and light & airiness.

And opposite really for tourists

Shop, souvenirs, Hundertwasser Village.

The Hundertwasser Village is not only worth a look for tourists.

The Hundertwasser Village (Kegelgasse 37-39) is right across the street, designed for tourists, but also not a bad starting point for interested locals. Here the interior has been designed in the style of a small village, as if each building had been designed by Hundertwasser himself. This creates a fairytale mini world. Of course, souvenirs can also be bought there. A short stroll through this designed town is worthwhile even if you don't intend to buy anything.

The Maiden’s Tower, or Kız Kulesi, dates back to 1110 CE, built by Byzantine Emperor Alexios I. Located on a small islet in the Bosphorus, it has served various roles, including as a defense tower, lighthouse, and quarantine station. Surrounded by legends, it is an iconic symbol of Istanbul. Today, it stands as a cultural landmark and popular tourist destination, offering panoramic views of the city and the Bosphorus, reflecting Istanbul’s layered history.
