De meeste spoorwegliefhebbers die zich met enige regelmaat op zondag met hun hobby bezig houden kennen ongetwijfeld de dieselolietrein die rond het middaguur vanuit Kijfhoek richting Venlo rijdt met als tractie veelal een Vectron bij BLS Cargo. Vooral aan het begin van 2019 was deze trein immers een geliefd doel voor vele fotografen waaronder ook ikzelf.
Het deel wat echter voor mijzelf nog ontbrak en eigenlijk nog gewenster is betreft natuurlijk de 'first mile' in de haven, ofwel de weg van het bedrijf vanwaar de wagens komen naar het emplacement waar de elektrische loc de trein overneemt. Hoog tijd daar dus maar eens verandering in aan te brengen en op de zondagmorgen koers te zetten naar Pernis, waar het uiteindelijk allemaal gebeurd.
De genoemde taak in de haven is aan Independent Rail Partner die voor hun havenactiviteiten diverse G1206 en G2000 locomotieven gebruiken. Vrijwel al deze machines dragen de opvallende zwart met roze kleurstelling maar in dit geval moest natuurlijk het buitenbeentje verschijnen, de zonder enige vervoerderskenmerken en zonder zichtbaar materieelnummer genoemde 2201.
De historie van deze in 2008 gebouwde loc leert ons dat ze voorafgaand aan de inzet bij IRP in dienst is geweest bij ACTS onder nummer 7112, HTRS onder nummer 1798 (waarbij ook gestickert in de HUSA kleurstelling). TrainGroup onder nummer TG-105 (waarvan de schrikstrepen rondom nog altijd een herinnering zijn), RTS Rail, LOCON (wederom als 1798) en Bentheimer Eisenbahn.
Terug naar het moment van de foto brengt ons op de Vondelingenplaat temidden van de enorme Shell terreinen en op de achtergrond gelegen Koole Tankstorage Minerals alwaar de wagens aan de haak van deze G1206 beladen worden met dieselolie. Na wagencontrole en remproef en daarmee gepaard het nodige geduld van de fotografen trekt de 2201 zijn sleep wagens behoedzaam de de poort uit op weg naar emplacement Pernis. De machinist zal aansluitend de dieselloc wisselen voor een elektrisch exemplaar waarna de lange reis naar het Zwitserse Basel kan beginnen als trein 49077.

Wanneer de JT42CWR tot je favoriete locomotief behoort is het streven dan ook ze in zoveel mogelijk varianten vast te leggen en bewonderen. Hoewel ik de versie van Euro Cargo Rail al diverse malen voor de lens kreeg gebeurde dat nooit eerder bij de juiste zonstand met uitzondering van de keer dat ik ze gloednieuw bij Nedtrain in Tilburg kon fotograferen. Door herhaaldelijk vol te houden op een traject waar ze vrijwel dagelijks rijden wilde het ditmaal wél lukken!
Natuurlijk zullen velen van jullie nu denken waarom ik deze loc niet gewoon beschrijf als Class 66 waarbij ik moet verduidelijken dat die benaming eigenlijk helemaal niets te maken heeft met het type locomotief. Immers kennen we ze ook als Baureihe 266, 247 of Class 77. Al deze benoemingen echter zijn niets meer dan verwijzende naar de nummering van de locomotieven in verschillende landen. De officiële type-aanduiding voor deze krachtpatsers is JT42CWR.
In dit geval zien we de 247 029 voorzien van een bescheiden DB logo op de fronten als tractie voor een sleep met buizen beladen rongenwagens ter hoogte van Ratingen/Lintorf passeren onderweg zijnde van Oberhausen Osterfeld Süd naar Dusseldorf Rath. Amper een uurtje later zou de loc alweer los terugkeren en werd daarbij uiteraard nog even doel van een close upje.
De in 2008 door het Canadese Electro-Motive-Diesel gebouwde 247 029 kunnen we overigens ook identificeren als 266 429 en onder het volledige UIC nummer 92 80 1266 429-0 D-DB. Helaas is deze machine niet op Nederlandse bodem te zien en beperkt zijn toelating zich tot België, Duitsland en Frankrijk.

DB Cargo (former Euro Cargo Rail) 247 029 could also be identified as 266 429 or full UIC number 92 80 1266 429-0 D-DB as it's seen working a loaded pipes train from Oberhausen Osterfeld Süd to Dusseldorf Rath while passing near Ratingen/Lintorf, Germany.
Unfortunately those nice looking sheds can't be seen in the Netherlands as they have licenses to operate in Belgium, France and Germany only. Since 2013 Euro Cargo Rail is a full part of DB Cargo being the owner of these locomotives still fitted in ECR livery with a small DB logo up front on just a few of them.

Flickr family!! I locked myself out of my account and just got back in...hello! It's April. I've never gone so long in my entire photo career without posting here. It's been sad.
Here's a catch-up of my year so far.
January I went to India for a couple of weeks to teach self-expression workshops to survivors of human trafficking. It was a great trip where I got to go to a huge wedding (where I stayed awake for 38 hours celebrating!) and even got to teach a group of 10-11 year old gals.
In February I bunkered in at home mostly and organized a 10-city tour! I'm coming to London, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, NYC, Toronto, Vancouver and Melbourne.
In addition to those cities, I have other jobs to do abroad, so I'm also visiting Florence, Rome, Coventry, Wellington, and Queenstown!
Did I mention this is all in 6 weeks?
I've also been creating a brand new exhibition that debuts in NYC on June 13. I'm sending my images in to get proofed today! It has taken a lot of energy out of me to do all of this.
I also just got back from 10 days in Greece where we celebrated the graduation of The Light Space students. TLS is a photography school that I co-founded that teaches photograph as a life skill to underprivileged communities. Our program in Greece aids unaccompanied minor refugees.
I'll write more later, but for now, here is the first image I took this year when it snowed on New Year's Day. It feels like a lifetime ago, but also just like a blink away.

I had a test in my accounting class tonight. I always stress over little things. I'm pretty sure I made close to 100%....being an accountant for the last 12 years didn't hurt...

I found this awesome store somewhere in Texas. I made notes because I had no idea where the hell I was....an atlas can only get you so far (totally need a dum dum).
Apparently this is off of HWY 105 E, right outside of Washington County past Yeuga Creek.

Waar je op de Brabantroute eigenlijk omgeleide treinen verwacht die gewoonlijk het A15 tracé en de grensovergang bij Emmerich benutten was er dankzij werkzaamheden in het zuiden van Limburg ook een totaal andere omleider te zien tijdens een dagje langs de baan in de hoop op leuke goederentreintjes. In dit geval ging het om een steevast rijdende staaltrein vanuit Beverwijk met bestemming Kinkempois die gewoonlijk niet eens in de buurt van Rotterdam, laat staan Dordrecht komt.
Het is aan de 193 312 (voorzien van de milieubewuste stickers 'Das ist Grün') om deze staaltrein van tractie te voorzien tussen Beverwijk en Roosendaal. Hierbij werd dwars door de randstad gereden en daarbij dus ook de fotografen gepasseerd onder rugnummer 47683 ter hoogte van Willemsdorp, slechts een goede minuut voordat de trein Brabant zal bereiken. Vanaf Roosendaal zou het geheel verder gaan aangevoerd door maarliefst drie Vlaamse reizen.
Op het moment van het maken van deze foto zou de toelating voor Vectron locomotieven in België ongeveer drie weken in orde bevonden zijn ware het niet dat er toch nog wat meer tijd overheen gaat voordat deze machines daadwerkelijk in het Belgische zullen rijden. Waar wij er al enige jaren aan gewend zijn zal een nieuw toegelaten locomotieftype vele Belgische treinliefhebbers positief stemmen. Na vele jaren waarin de Traxx ruimschoots overheerst mogen onze zuiderburen ook hoop gaan vestigen op meer variatie en vele fotografische doelen.

Having been locked out of this account for 18 months (June '17 to December '18) I am now in the process of moving some of the images from my temporary account over to this one. Here is a series of aerial shots of Old Harry Rocks, across the bay from Poole, on the Isle of Purbeck (which isn't an island!), Dorset. I flew this with the DJI Phantom 3 Professional, in July 2017, just before I sold it. This is an amazing place to fly but, sadly, the National Trust have now slapped a blanket ban on flying from / over any of their properties.

The red fox (Vulpes vulpes) typically dominate other fox species. Arctic foxes generally escape competition from red foxes by living farther north, where food is too scarce to support the larger-bodied red species. Although the red species' northern limit is linked to the availability of food, the Arctic species' southern range is limited by the presence of the former. Red and Arctic foxes were both introduced to almost every island from the Aleutian Islands to the Alexander Archipelago during the 1830s–1930s by fur companies. The red foxes invariably displaced the Arctic foxes, with one male red fox having been reported to have killed off all resident Arctic foxes on a small island in 1866. Where they are sympatric, Arctic foxes may also escape competition by feeding on lemmings and flotsam, rather than voles, as favoured by red foxes. Both species will kill each other's kits, given the opportunity.
Red foxes are serious competitors of corsac foxes, as they hunt the same prey all year. The red species is also stronger, is better adapted to hunting in snow deeper than 10 cm (4 in) and is more effective in hunting and catching medium to large-sized rodents. Corsac foxes seem to only outcompete red foxes in semi-desert and steppe areas. In Israel, Blanford's foxes escape competition with red foxes by restricting themselves to rocky cliffs and actively avoiding the open plains inhabited by red foxes.:84–85 Red foxes dominate kit and swift foxes. Kit foxes usually avoid competition with their larger cousins by living in more arid environments, though red foxes have been increasing in ranges formerly occupied by kit foxes due to human-induced environmental changes. Red foxes will kill both species, and compete for food and den sites. Grey foxes are exceptional, as they dominate red foxes wherever their ranges meet. Historically, interactions between the two species were rare, as grey foxes favoured heavily wooded or semiarid habitats as opposed to the open and mesic ones preferred by red foxes. However, interactions have become more frequent due to deforestation allowing red foxes to colonise grey fox-inhabited areas.
Wolves may kill and eat red foxes in disputes over carcasses. In areas in North America where red fox and coyote populations are sympatric, fox ranges tend to be located outside coyote territories. The principal cause of this separation is believed to be active avoidance of coyotes by the foxes. Interactions between the two species vary in nature, ranging from active antagonism to indifference. The majority of aggressive encounters are initiated by coyotes, and there are few reports of red foxes acting aggressively toward coyotes except when attacked or when their kits were approached. Foxes and coyotes have sometimes been seen feeding together. In Israel, red foxes share their habitat with golden jackals. Where their ranges meet, the two canids compete due to near identical diets. Foxes ignore jackal scents or tracks in their territories, and avoid close physical proximity with jackals themselves. In areas where jackals become very abundant, the population of foxes decreases significantly, apparently because of competitive exclusion.
Red foxes dominate raccoon dogs, sometimes killing their kits or biting adults to death. Cases are known of foxes killing raccoon dogs entering their dens. Both species compete for mouse-like prey. This competition reaches a peak during early spring, when food is scarce. In Tartaria, red fox predation accounted for 11.1% of deaths among 54 raccoon dogs, and amounted to 14.3% of 186 raccoon dog deaths in north-western Russia.
Red foxes may kill small mustelids like weasels, stone martens, pine martens, stoats, kolonoks, polecats and young sables. Eurasian badgers may live alongside red foxes in isolated sections of large burrows. It is possible that the two species tolerate each other out of mutualism; foxes provide badgers with food scraps, while badgers maintain the shared burrow's cleanliness.:15 However, cases are known of badgers driving vixens from their dens and destroying their litters without eating them. Wolverines may kill red foxes, often while the latter are sleeping or near carrion. Foxes in turn may kill unattended young wolverines.
Red foxes may compete with striped hyenas on large carcasses. Red foxes may give way to hyenas on unopened carcasses, as the latter's stronger jaws can easily tear open flesh that is too tough for foxes. Foxes may harass hyenas, using their smaller size and greater speed to avoid the hyena's attacks. Sometimes, foxes seem to deliberately torment hyenas even when there is no food at stake. Some foxes may mistime their attacks, and are killed.:77–79 Fox remains are often found in hyena dens, and hyenas may steal foxes from traps.
In Eurasia, red foxes may be preyed upon by leopards, caracals and Eurasian lynxes. The lynxes chase red foxes into deep snow, where their longer legs and larger paws give them an advantage over foxes, especially when the depth of the snow exceeds one metre. In the Velikoluki district in Russia, red foxes are absent or are seen only occasionally where lynxes establish permanent territories. Researchers consider lynxes to represent considerably less danger to red foxes than wolves do. North American felid predators of red foxes include cougars, Canadian lynxes and bobcats. Occasionally, large raptors such as Eurasian eagle owls will prey on young foxes, while golden eagles have been known to kill adults.

Sinds 1 januari 2019 verzorgd LINEAS de tractie voor de eerder door onder andere DB Cargo en RRF gereden dolimetreinen die hun weg vinden tussen de steengroeve van Lhoist in Hermalle-Sous-Huy en Nedmag in Veendam. In principe worden deze treinen over hun gehele traject van tractie voorzien door een tweetal HLR77 waardoor we bij uitzondering onlangs al het tweetal geheel gehuisstijlde locs voor de trein vonden én fotografeerden. Echter het kan altijd nog iets beter!
Het gebeurde op 30 april 2019 nog maar voor de tweede keer dat de enige Class 66 in LINEAS livrei de taak kreeg de extra dolimetrein naar het noorden te rijden wat voor mij de logica betekende dat hij een dag later bij daglicht zuidwaarts zou rijden. Gezien ik de eerdere keer niet in de gelegenheid was de reis doordeweeks te maken werden nu alle zeilen bijgezet om dat nu wel voor elkaar te krijgen. Niet alleen immers is Class 66 zeer geliefd bij mij maar deze loc laat zich hoe dan ook vrij moeilijk pakken gezien de tijdstippen en dagen waarop hij meestal in actie komt.
Met nu wel de mogelijkheid op pad te gaan werd ondanks het grijze begin van de dag rekening gehouden met een eventueel zonnetje wat me in eerste instantie op de Paleisbrug in 's-Hertogenbosch bracht. Door een enorme kans op een tegentrein op het verkeerde moment en het feit dat het noodzakelijk zou zijn ietwat te groothoeken besloot ik alsnog de bewolkte Brabantse hoofdstad achter me te laten en koers te zetten naar het enige kilometers zuidelijker gelegen Vught.
Strak volgens schema passeert de LINEAS 513-10 met lege dolimetrein 47627 het pitorekse stationnetje en het tweetal fotografen in het 5 minuten eerder ontstane zongat. Zo bleek al snel was de verhuizing naar Vught een goede zet, was het al niet om een eventuele tegentrein dan was het wel om het feit dat het zeer waarschijnlijk grauw en grijs bleef op de eerder gekozen plaats. Iedere spoorliefhebber kent de talloze pogingen waarin iets niet helemaal mag lukken maar pogingen zoals deze maken dat soort momenten ruimschoots goed en motiveren vooral lekker door te hobbyen!

Greetings! I'll be posting most of my builds this summer at the account General Farok for the purposes of competing in the LEGO war game Decisive Action 4: Hammer to Fall. I've already got some brand-new LEGO scenes, like the above, posted over there, and lots more to come, so go check it out! Also, power in the game is based on faves, so if you like the builds, a liberal hand on the fave button would be appreciated.

Thought I would pop in to say hi and wish everyone a belated Christmas greeting.
I have let my Pro account expire, so can not upload large files anymore, but am alright with that.
Have not been taking many pictures at all. Besides the macular degeneration in my right eye, which is being kept mostly under control, I am having problems with cataracts. I have been referred to an optical surgeon by my retinal specialist and have been told that the wait list for lens replacement surgery is about nine months.
Although I am still legal to drive, for now I have voluntarily given up driving as I am not totally confortable doing it, so I have been taking very few photos. To be honest it is a challenge to read the display in the camera, and even processing can be frustrating. Kind of like looking through a light fog. Fine detail is soft, colours are desaturated and contrast is lessened. In the month of December I have only taken 32 shots. Just not as much fun taking processing or viewing them.
Anyways, I am busy presently with working on flooring which is also quite frustrating with my vision, but something that I need to do. Perhaps I will be ready to rejoin Flickr in about a month, but will likely only be doing so on a part time basis.

As I'm sure you all already know, Flickr is changing their policy regarding storage for free accounts. This is a problem for cheapos like me who aren't willing to start paying for what used to be a free hobby.
So I bet you're all thinking, "Gee, I wonder what PlazaACME's gonna do?"
Well I have an answer- sort of. I'm planning on keeping this (free) Flickr account, meaning a few thousand of my photos have to be purged out. There will be no more regular uploads on my page from this point out.
The photos that were on this page will be moved to my blog. (Let's just ignore the half-dozen weird posts I have there currently). These reposts will be done slowly over the next few weeks. Long-term, I'd like to use the blog for "stours" and use another platform for my more random posts, but until a decent alternative presents itself I'll just keep everything on the blog. I will also remain active on Flickr, but only to keep up with everybody's photos.
The photo is totally unrelated. Just wanted to use one of the more interesting ones I had sitting in the archives. It's from a foggy night when my roommate and I went out and took some photos around the city.
We had stopped at a static aircraft display in Summerside, PEI, and as impressive enough as this Argus Maritime Patrol Aircraft was, a short older fellow standing underneath it (and getting in the way of my photo), was even more so. It turned out he was a pilot who had flown the aircraft and enthusiastically shared a fascinating personal account. He told me about the crew of 15, the onboard bunks for rest breaks, the cabin furnace, kitchen complete with oven and coffee machine, the extended patrols lasting 18 hours or more without aerial refueling, 3600 kg loads consisting of bombs, mines, spare parts, and torpedoes. His typical flights would start out late on a Monday afternoon with a mission plan and he finally returned home after debriefing on Wednesday morning. They could fly 1000 miles out to sea, remain on task for eight hours, and return to base with enough fuel to divert for another 500 miles. The four 18 cylinder engines would tick over at just 1600 RPM at cruising speed.
After talking with him, the static display on a cloudless blue sky didn't really seem to do the image any justice. Consequently, with a little back and forth between my computer and an iPhone app, I came up with this composite.
Addendum: Since posting this, I found a newspaper clipping detailing the loss of one aircraft at Summerside. Apparently, they were returning for an emergency landing with one engine out. The weather was stormy with high winds, thunder and lightning, and as they came in, a gust lifted one wing, which dipped the other into a snowbank. They were headed right for the tower and school behind it when the pilot was able to turn enough to avoid it but crashed down the runway. Three crew perished but thirteen survived.

Elsie Stephen Meighen - born January 22, 1872, Perth, Ontario - and Robert Wilson Reford - born in 1867, Montreal - got married on June 12, 1894.
Elsie Reford was a pioneer of Canadian horticulture, creating one of the largest private gardens in Canada on her estate, Estevan Lodge in eastern Québec. Located in Grand-Métis on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, her gardens have been open to the public since 1962 and operate under the name Les Jardins de Métis and Reford Gardens.
Born January 22, 1872 at Perth, Ontario, Elsie Reford was the eldest of three children born to Robert Meighen and Elsie Stephen. Coming from modest backgrounds themselves, Elsie’s parents ensured that their children received a good education. After being educated in Montreal, she was sent to finishing school in Dresden and Paris, returning to Montreal fluent in both German and French, and ready to take her place in society.
She married Robert Wilson Reford on June 12, 1894. She gave birth to two sons, Bruce in 1895 and Eric in 1900. Robert and Elsie Reford were, by many accounts, an ideal couple. In 1902, they built a house on Drummond Street in Montreal. They both loved the outdoors and they spend several weeks a year in a log cabin they built at Lac Caribou, south of Rimouski. In the autumn they hunted for caribou, deer, and ducks. They returned in winter to ski and snowshoe. Elsie Reford also liked to ride. She had learned as a girl and spent many hours riding on the slopes of Mount Royal. And of course, there was salmon-fishing – a sport at which she excelled.
In her day, she was known for her civic, social, and political activism. She was engaged in philanthropic activities, particularly for the Montreal Maternity Hospital and she was also the moving force behind the creation of the Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal, the first women club in Canada. She believed it important that the women become involved in debates over the great issues of the day, « something beyond the local gossip of the hour ». Her acquaintance with Lord Grey, the Governor-General of Canada from 1904 to 1911, led to her involvement in organizing, in 1908, Québec City’s tercentennial celebrations. The event was one of many to which she devoted herself in building bridges with French-Canadian community.
During the First World War, she joined her two sons in England and did volunteer work at the War Office, translating documents from German into English. After the war, she was active in the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Montreal Council of Social Agencies, and the National Association of Conservative Women.
In 1925 at the age of 53 years, Elsie Reford was operated for appendicitis and during her convalescence, her doctor counselled against fishing, fearing that she did not have the strength to return to the river.”Why not take up gardening?” he said, thinking this a more suitable pastime for a convalescent woman of a certain age. That is why she began laying out the gardens and supervising their construction. The gardens would take ten years to build, and would extend over more than twenty acres.
Elsie Reford had to overcome many difficulties in bringing her garden to life. First among them were the allergies that sometimes left her bedridden for days on end. The second obstacle was the property itself. Estevan was first and foremost a fishing lodge. The site was chosen because of its proximity to a salmon river and its dramatic views – not for the quality of the soil.
To counter-act nature’s deficiencies, she created soil for each of the plants she had selected, bringing peat and sand from nearby farms. This exchange was fortuitous to the local farmers, suffering through the Great Depression. Then, as now, the gardens provided much-needed work to an area with high unemployment. Elsie Reford’s genius as a gardener was born of the knowledge she developed of the needs of plants. Over the course of her long life, she became an expert plantsman. By the end of her life, Elsie Reford was able to counsel other gardeners, writing in the journals of the Royal Horticultural Society and the North American Lily Society. Elsie Reford was not a landscape architect and had no training of any kind as a garden designer. While she collected and appreciated art, she claimed no talents as an artist.
Elsie Stephen Reford died at her Drummond Street home on November 8, 1967 in her ninety-sixth year.
In 1995, the Reford Gardens ("Jardins de Métis") in Grand-Métis were designated a National Historic Site of Canada, as being an excellent Canadian example of the English-inspired garden.(Wikipedia)

A blast from the past!
Ik denk dat bovenstaande wel een correcte beschrijving is, al plaats ik deze foto slechts circa 3 jaar na hem gemaakt te hebben. Het veel interessantere feit is natuurlijk dat deze ogenschijnlijk lege autotrein op weg tussen Rheine en Osnabrück getrokken wordt door een loc uit reeks 155 die vanaf 1974 in dienst zijn gekomen. Machines die je helaas steeds minder ziet maar waarvan ik toch meerdere klikjes heb kunnen maken. In dti geval van de 155 039.
De goed oplettende kijker ziet door de boog en de lege wagens heen dat het bovendek van de trein toch deels beladen is wanneer deze voorbij trekt aan het tweetal fotografen terhoogte van Ibbenbüren. Dat de trein ons min of meer verraste en het een gevalletje snel handelen betreft blijkt uit het feit dat de ladder ongebruikt bij de auto bleef staan tijdens deze klik.

Tijdens het wachten op enkele goederentreinen die aangekondigd waren te passeren over het A15 tracé richting het Rotterdamse havengebied werd ook even gekeken bij de 50 meter verderop gelegen Merwede-Lingelijn waar Qbuzz zijn treindienst verzorgd tussen Geldermalsen en Dordrecht.
Sinds Qbuzz de treindienst overnam van Arriva is men op rustig tempo gestart met het aanbrengen van de R-Net kleurstelling op het materieel. Zo rijden inmiddels al een aantal GTW's in het bekende rood/grijs rond maar zijn ook de oude en daarbij duidelijk verouderde kleuren van Arriva nog op de lijn te zien. Ons streven was natuurlijk een exemplaar in R-Net jasje te treffen.
Het resultaat was trein 7264 die onderweg zijnde van Geldermalsen naar Dordrecht vertegenwoordigd wordt door de 6352 die hier enkele ogenblikken eerder station Hardinxveld Blauwe Zoom achter zich gelaten heeft. GTW is overigens bepaald niet mijn favoriete materieel en zul je eigenlijk alleen bij mij aantreffen wanneer ik vanuit een toevalligheid kan combineren met een ander doel. Het is immers wel de kunst de wereld van het spoor zo compleet mogelijk weer te geven!

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

皆さんおはよう。
偶然だが、おととしの今日、私は新型コロナウィルスのワクチンを接種した。
みなさんのなかには、すでに二度目の接種を受けた方もいるだろう。
この新型コロナウィルスは世界に1つの境界線を引いた。
それまでとそれ以降だ。
私たちを取り巻く環境は激変した。
ウィルスに対応するためあらゆる場所に除菌液が設置され、部屋の空気を浄化し、そんな環境が至る所に展開されてきた。
アップルも、これらを認識しつつ、新しいプロジェクトに臨んできた。
新しい価値観を受け入れるためには、新しいスタイルが必要だ。
私たちの周囲もアップデートされなければ、私たちは生き残れないだろう。
アップルは時代を生き残るために、いくつかを提示してきた。
パーソナルコンピューターであるマッキントッシュ。
音楽デバイスであるアイポッド。
携帯電話であるアイフォーン。
そして、今日、アップルはみなさんに伝えたいことがある。
それはもうひとつのサヴァイヴだ。
アップルカー。
アップルは車を再発明する。
これまでの自動車の状態
今までのガソリン車を振り返ってみよう。
ガソリンという化石燃料を使い、ガスを排出する。そして環境を悪化させてきた。
山林は業火に見舞われ、大雨の大洪水に街はさらわれ、乾いた大地が覆い尽くす。
これからもこの状態が続くという事は地球自体の崩壊を招く。
私たちはそれを止めなければならない。少なくとも見直しに取り掛かることが重要だ。
世界的にトップだったトヨタはこれに積極的に取り掛からなかった。
すでに多くの世界で走っているハイブリッドのプリウス。
これは１９９２年に発表されたにも関わらず、新しい車種でさえも未だにハイブリッドのままだ。
発売してからの約３０年もの間、いったい彼らは何を目的としてこの車に固執し、開発してきたのか？
なぜ彼らはこの車種を見直さなかったのか？
現状のハイブリット、プラグインハイブリット。そういった類は結局は化石燃料を使っている。
彼らはこの新しい展開に積極的に臨んできたというが、現状維持という考えを変えなかった。
むしろ現時点においても、それがベストだとさえ言ってるように思えてならない。
私たちはそこで他の会社も見渡してみた。
電気自動車の現在
テスラだ。
皆さんご存知のようにテスラは積極的に環境問題に取り組み、世界規模で大きく発展し貢献してきた。化石燃料を使わない、そして自動運転、洗練されたデザイン。これらは多くの人たちを魅了してきた。
しかし広く普及はしたものの、皆さんの家のそばにこの車は走ってるだろうか？
答えはノーだ。
なぜ車が走っていないか。
私たちは3時間ほどしっかり考えた。
まぁ、たった3時間だが。
答えは単純だ。
車が高いからだ。高価すぎるのだ。
これはテスラに限らず電気自動車を作っているすべての会社に言えることだ。
とにかく車の値段が高すぎる。
私たちはこれを念頭に置きつつ、車を再発明した。
アップルカーのポイント
アップルカーのポイントは三つだ。
ひとつめ。
価格。
電気自動車が普及しない理由は非常に簡単だ。
価格が高いからだ
なぜ電気自動車が高いのか。それは本体価格の大半を占めるバッテリーの値段が最も高いからだ。
それが大きく占めている。
そこでアップルはリン酸鉄リチウムイオンバッテリーと言う素材を使うことに行き着いた。
これは全個体電池のように高価ではなく安価で、iPhoneのように充電する時間は短く、すぐに使えることを優先させ、かつ、耐久性に優れていると言うポイントがある。
私たちはこの2点を重視した。
車を短時間で充電し、短距離を即、走行可能となることを目指した。
iPhoneやアップルウォッチと同じ結論を反映させたのだ。
現在、電気自動車は長距離を走ることを目標としているが、果たして、きょう、あなたが会社から帰る際に、長距離用のバッテリが必要だろうか？
何百キロも走ることが必要だろうか？
すぐに家に帰り、すぐに充電し、また朝には出勤する。
全個体電池などという長距離が走れる高価なバッテリは、現段階では不要なのだ。
アップルはそう判断した。
次にアップルが目指したポイントの2つ目は安全性だ。
WHOの報告では、年間で世界中の事故死者数は１３５万人に上る。
これは、２４秒にひとりが命を落としている計算になる。
アップルはこの事故を劇的に減らそうと考えた。
Apple Watchを腕に巻いた子供が車の下にいた場合。
iPhone 5Gを持っている人が側道にいたり、信号待ちをしている場合。
彼らを事前に感知し、彼らには接近しないように考えた。
人の居場所を事前に察知することができれば、車は避けられる。
私たちは、車自体が人から離れることを計算した。
3つ目は先進性だ。
これまでの車と言うのは、車に乗るとわかるが、ダッシュボードにはいつもの通風口が口を開けて待っている。
これは見慣れた光景で、もううんざりだ。飽き飽きだ。
私たちはこの風景を大きく前進させる。
フロントガラスにAR機能を搭載し、ナビゲーションで誘う。
また、ダッシュボードには皆さんが持っているiPhoneやiPadを貼り付け、聴いていた音楽をそのまま車内で流せる。
もちろん、望めばそのままエンジンもスタートだ。
ワイパーなんてもう不要だ。水滴なんて風圧で飛ばすした方が美しい。
シートベルトもあなたが座れば自動で閉まる。きつ過ぎず、ゆる過ぎず、あなたは快適な空間を提供されるだろう。
また、ハンドルを握って前を見据えた瞬間にドライバーの健康状態をアップルカーは察知する。
あなたが酔っていたら、車は決して動かない。もう酔っ払い運転の事故は発生しないだろう。
以上の三つがアップルカーのポイントだ。
１ 価格
２ 安全性
３ 先進性
アップルはこれらを重視した。
