Out with one camera and one lens. I believe this is in the English Hills in Vacaville. Not in summer, but in winter these hills do look like many places I’ve been to in England, hence their name. There is a father and son in the photo and though they were a ways off I could here him encouraging his son to make it to the top.
The Alpine Accentor (Prunella collaris) is a small passerine bird in the family Prunellidae.
The alpine accentor (Prunella collaris), which ranges from Spain and northwestern Africa to Japan, is at 18 cm (7 inches) long the largest and stoutest of the accentors.
Both sexes are mostly brown with reddish-spotted flanks and a heavily stippled throat.
These birds breed at high elevations; in the Himalayas they have been seen on Mount Everest at nearly 8,000 metres (26,000 feet).
A little visual letting off of steam around the frustrations of having people periodically attempt to have me change my pronunciation and accent. Approx 400mm by 400.
I love the color accent feature on my camera!!
This made Explore almost 1 year after I uploaded it here! Weird!

The rufous-breasted accentor (Prunella strophiata) is passerine bird in the Prunellidae family, endemic to the Himalayas, descending in the winter to lower-to-middle altitudes. It is found in Afghanistan, Bhutan, Tibet, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan.
Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
The rufous-breasted accentor was described by the English zoologist Edward Blyth in 1843 from a specimen collected in Nepal. He coined the binomial name Accentor strophiatus. The specific epithet strophiatus/strophiata is from Latin strophium "breast-band". The rufous-breasted accentor is now placed in the genus Prunella that was introduced by the French ornithologist Louis Vieillot in 1816
I'll spare you the details, but lets just say this morning was a bit different than usual. I was approached by someone with a russian accent outside my hotel asking me why I was in the country, what I did for work, with who, etc. Then he followed me around the city. I'll spare you the details, but now I'm in a new hotel and it's alllll quiet.
Plus for dinner, I had bratwurst and some dunkle bier (dark bier) at a rathskeller under a historic building in Wiesbaden. So overall, I like this new town.
And every day I take the Autobahn to work. There is one part with "no restrictions" which means my 2008 Ford Focus wagon gets to open up and enjoy the road. I requested an upgraded vehicle, and they stick me with a 1.6l AMERICAN station wagon while 2 of my co-workers have 2008 BMWs. Needless to say, NOT happy. But if you're wondering, my Focus can do about 180kph; I'll let you do the math.
The Sawatch Range in central Colorado at daybreak. A beautiful Belt of Venus with the Earth Shadow accented the vista.
Sometimes I think being an immigrant leaves a mark on a personality as we grow up. And then on the second thought maybe it’s not the origin of birth, maybe it’s just growing up in Brooklyn that changes you forever. Maybe it’s just an invisible part of Brooklyn accent.

An unintentionally themed upload here, with all being blue, 2/3-door cars.
This Accent became untaxed just a day after my photo. Whether it was sold or is one way to being scrapped I don't know, but the MoT is due soon so if I remember I'll check to see if it gets renewed.

You could see the gondolas in the blue twilight of San Marco Basin beyond the warm glow of the Gran Caffe Chioggia’s arcade. This is one of the oldest historic cafes in Venice, situated along San Marco Square. Walking past here I had to stop, absolutely enchanted with this scene. There were a few people out in the cold winter evening air, and I waited each time for them to pass, making a few exposures in between. Soon it became evident I was going to need a tripod given the dim light. We spent the next afternoon walking all over Venice to find one, then returned to this exact same place armed with the new purchase, and ready to give it a second try. What a pleasure to be able to record it in this special glowing light.
Some history of these arcades and the newly discovered drink, caffe, served under the office buildings that surround the San Marco Square:
"The New and Old Procuratie, bordering the Square, were the offices of the 9 Procurators, the most important citizens of Venice after the Doge. They controlled the Square, the Basilica and the 6 sections of the city, called sestieri . In 1585 the Venetian ambassador to Instanbul told the Senate that the Turkish were drinking a hot black drink, made by a seed called Kahavè and that people had diffuculty in falling asleep after drinking this beverage. This seed was brought back to Venice and in 1638 it was roasted, ground and sold at an expensive price from a special caffè shop which was located directly under the Procuratie. In a short time the caffè shops opened all of the city and by the end of the next century there were 24 such caffè's in St.Mark's Square alone. These caffè's soon became the favorite place among intellectuals to meet and drink coffee. Gambling, another favorite past time of the Venetian nobility also went on in the caffè's."
