September 3pm hour. A mesmerizing treasure trove of golden sunshine sparkles appeared in the water as I was walking around Ventura Harbor. Then in the fresh ocean breeze, along came a stand-up paddleboarder, unencumbered and uncluttered. After swirling through the sparkles like a lightweight nomad, he turns and looks back. I wonder if he saw the same thing I did. Anyway, it looks like he was freely enjoying the afternoon and I hope he goes home happy.
To be here was such a treat. I wanted a picture with boats for my 'Hours' picture because I was born in September in the 3pm hour on what is now 'International Talk Like A Pirate Day', so it worked out well. Arrr, Matey!
September is so lovely and it will transition into Fall before we know it. As Summer fades, it leaves its door open just a little...

Spent a lot of time in my twenties living in Boughton. It's about a mile from the city centre but has a village feel to it, as do a lot of the suburbs in Chester.
It still has a green grocers, a bakery and and a couple of butchers, the one I used has recently changed hands after the retirement of Mr. Philip Salt esq. but they still do a version of the Chester Roll which is like a cross between a sausage roll and a Cornish pasty.
For such a small city the accents differ wildly and I can instantly tell where someone was brought up. There is a 'Boughton twang,' the 'Saltney inflection,' and the recent influx of media types, TV presenters, celeb chefs and actors to Hoole, now known locally as Notting Hoole has changed the accent there beyond recognition.
Blacon and the Lache are often grouped together with similar accents but most Cestrians can tell the difference through colloquial phrases. Further out you get a kind of regional RP in Vicars Cross, Upton and Christleton.

This is a lesser goldfinch - a bit less colorful and smaller than the American Goldfinch. I suppose, hence the word "lesser" in front of goldfinch. I think this is a female. I kind of liked the way the red flowers contrasted her yellow plumage.
When real life keeps you busy, you just need some purple in your life.

“Joy Bento” Pose
I know you probably can’t read the small red sign on this fence, but it says Accent Fence. Just what is this fence accenting? It looks like some kind of enclosure for trash or maybe a place to secure equipment. It doesn’t look like the gate can even be closed anymore. If you ask me (no one did, but since it is my picture I’ll comment anyway), there is nothing at all attractive that an accent fence could show off. There isn’t even a rose bush or colorful wildflowers, just weeds and vines.
Some of you may think it is just the name of the fence company that installed this fence. If so, they should remove the plaque because this fence is not doing the fence company any good by way of advertising IMO.

The more unusual, different and downright odd, yes please.
They are stunningly beautiful, vibrant and the petals such a great contrast to the stamen.

The common thread is that the flower always denotes luxury and indulgence.

Playing around after a day of walking through old Montreal. The lights in the restaurant associated with our hotel were accented by the glow of a pink-purple neon light tube which snaked around the room near the ceiling. The colors reflected in the crystal hanging at the bottom drew my attention.

The Dunnock is a bird species of the genus Brown Accentor, the only genus in the family of the same name. The Dunnock is a widespread and frequent breeding and summer bird in Central Europe, but because of its inconspicuous plumage it is usually only noticed for its vocalisations. In some areas of Central Europe it is even an annual bird. Hedge sparrows are particularly common in young spruce stands. In the mountains they occur as far as the knee timber region.
