the image was derived from the same freesia flowers that feature in the pictures that follow.

abstractionism [abˈstrak sh əˌnizəm]

noun

• the principles and practice of abstract art.

• the presentation of ideas in abstract terms.

Just playing around tonight.

This is two images opened as layers. One is a screen type metal grill where the black level had been maximised giving an unbalanced effect across the diagonals, and the other shot is of 2 pieces of overlapping glass that had blue sky in the background.

I then blended the 2 layers in Difference mode (instead of Normal mode) which gave the overall blue tone and almost a 3D effect where the glass overlaps.

View on black for the full Printed Circuit Board effect. (Ok that is an IT nerd thing)

Walking in the North Shore woodlands in winter exposes many sights that are unseen in thick underbrush of other seasons. I found this very unusual weed along a path on one walk. It looked like a great natural abstraction to me. Enjoy sjs

simple light on the road.

Abrupt change of pace. This is a true macro of a rose shot at f2.8.

Today's series are more of my abstracts. Being an abstract painter I am gradually learning more and more about abstraction in photography and enjoying it.

The photo is executed in technique «LightGraphic » or «The painting of light», that assumes illumination of model by small light sources in darkness on long endurance.

Thus, all lightcloth (composition) - is one Photo Exposition, is embodied on a matrix of the camera in one click of a shutter.

This is an image from my project based around abstraction. My focuses for my shoots are colour, shape and texture.

My initial intention for this project was to demonstrate my view of equality through my final pieces. However I believe that because the pieces will be abstract, the viewer is free to interpret them as they please. Throughout this project I have come to realise that, for me, the emotions felt by the viewer towards the art are just as important as the intentions of the artist.
