It was my intention to zoom in on the dragonfly in the center , but eventually I went for the overview.
The photo is executed in technique «LightGraphic » or «The painting of light», that assumes illumination of model by small light sources in darkness on long endurance.
Thus, all lightcloth (composition) - is one Photo Exposition, is embodied on a matrix of the camera in one click of a shutter.
A shot of my living room ceiling. The bright orange color is simply the result of having one of the ceiling lights turned on and the camera white balance set to "sunlight". The contrasting white light is, of course, daylight comming from a small window. I was plesantly surprised by how bright the orange color is :)
"Abstraction is real, probably more real than nature."

This is a portrait of Sarah Veronica who is an actress and a director.
She accepted to pose without make-up which might be a challenge for any woman and we tried to make a series of pictures in the spirit of the Bauhaus movement searching for abstraction, modernism and rhythm...

Our last week's challenge was "Sculpture", which could be an easy topic or a challenging one, depending on how you approach it.
I had my eye on this one sculpture nearby and so wasn't worried about getting the shots.. it was just a matter of finding the right time of day. Well, woke up (relatively) early yesterday, got there and was trying to frame the sculpture and there were just too many distractions around.. telephone lines, flag poles, buildings nearby and so on.. and since the sulpture wasn't very big, a long focal length wouldn't have panned out to get what I had in mind... which was abstraction. I wanted to make my shots as abstract as possible.. to keep the viewer guessing what he's looking at.
Anyway, after fiddling around for a few minutes, and not getting the frame I wanted, I just placed the camera on the ground around the sculpture and images started to happen for me.. and then I was able to slide my camera under the panels to get a view of it looking straight up and turned out to be the image I was looking for..
Even when a guitar sits,
it sings and shows its gold.
The strings breathe with the weakest wind
and whisper out some notes.
It patience waits for someone's hands
to strum til heart's content
For then it be a real thing
and not just abstract art
