One of the tunnels i go through on my skateboard runs round Joondalup. I liked the perspective from down low
On the night of July 3, 2022 I sat in my daughters front yard that overlooks the city of Dubuque, Iowa. The fireworks are shot over the Mississippi River at quite a distance from where we were watching them being fired up into the night sky. I used many settings on my camera, sports, landscape, creative auto. etc. I got some amazing images that make many of the fireworks look abstract and not your usual fireworks display. I took a photo from the television while I was evacuating in Miami from Hurricane Milton and abstracted it. The only identity I have is YouTube. If somebody objects to this work, or if you want recognition, please advise me, and I will delete it or acknowledge you. Thank you.

This is one of three experimental works focused on the physical look and smell of the Lily.

This past October, 2020, I traveled to the Eagle Ridge Territory outside of Galena, Illinois. I had just gotten a new Cannon Camera with multiple lenses that I wanted to try out. These are some of those images. Photo Images credited to Vickie L Klinkhammer of Vickielynne Photography and Designs(VLP & Designs). Images may appear on wearable art and home essentials at

Here's an abstracted Forget-me-Not. This one I actually took outside, instead of picking it and bringing it into my "studio". Lying on my side, in the spring sunshine on a beautiful day.
It is Reverse Lens Macro, and although it showed the details pretty well, I still liked it better abstracted.
Maybe I'll pop it into Slider's Sunday this weekend!
I'm trying to keep my promise to put more photos up. My enthusiasm for Flickr was flagging, and then I realized I was neglecting my own photography. Feeling a bit better now, though!

This past June I had the opportunity to take a few rides along the Mississippi River. These particular photo images were taken out by Mud Lake and then a few were taken by Lock and Dam 11 in Dubuque, Iowa. I found the river to be a beautiful blue, along with the sky, the algae a nice contrasting green along with the blades of grass, weeds, and reeds that were popping up and floating along the top of the river. Lily pads and leaves were also in the mix floating along the river bank. Nature at its finest. Help!! I'm thinking of creating a personal website for my pictures. I have bought a URL but that's about it and I don't really know what to do next... It would be super if you could share any tips/advice about the dos and don'ts, links to sites you think have attractive designs and anything else you think it's worth knowing. Please could you leave comments here or in this discussion thread at Takara? Any help would be massively welcome!! Many thanks!

Another shot from a series taken of a Christmas window display in a high end department store window. The first was "She's Abstracted".
I really liked these mannequins with giant flowers replacing their heads. Whether there's any meaning to it at all is secondary to the effect. A nice bit of Surrealism to provide some interest in a otherwise utterly mundane display meant to sell product. Despite the mundanity though, these kinds of things make great subjects to play with in photo manipulation and pano-sabotage.

I took many pix of Ghery's buildings in LA and in Cambridge -
It's time do deconstruct and reconstruct them now ;-)
Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles
Every Winter, it seems, I end up gravitating toward abstraction. Perhaps the season drives the consciousness more inward with it's dreary dullness and 'deadness' of endless whites, browns, greys and blacks. Perhaps this inspires a less 'reality bound' imagining. The inner world comes alive with all the colour and life of Summer.
This image is made up of many, many layers of the same original photograph. This one image was treated in a number of ways and it's many variants were built up to achieve the final result.
This is another approach to my thinking that there are many, perhaps countless, ways to see the same thing. For as many ways as there are to see it there are just as many ways to interpret it. All are the same thing. It just depends on how you look at it. Reality, I suggest, is just this way. That doesn't mean that all is utter chaos, although that might be how it reads at first. It suggests that the more we "pan out" from the detail and get a overview of the interlocking of variations, the more we can see the patterns ( pattern ? ) of order.
The title is a play with words to come at the same idea verbally.
It is freeing to go abstract. That alone is all I need to run off into the unknown.
Created Jan 3. The first new image of 2019.

My own offering: "I Dormienti" ( The Sleepers ) - Brian Eno, from his Collection "Music for Installations". This was a piece commissioned for a Mimo Palladino installation of the same title done at London's Round House.

WIT: Took a picture of snow on my step, flipped it, and converted to BW. It became an abstract - I kind of like the sparkly snow - makes it look like stars in the sky at night.
