On the night of July 3, 2022 I sat in my daughters front yard that overlooks the city of Dubuque, Iowa. The fireworks are shot over the Mississippi River at quite a distance from where we were watching them being fired up into the night sky. I used many settings on my camera, sports, landscape, creative auto. etc. I got some amazing images that make many of the fireworks look abstract and not your usual fireworks display. Last week, temperatures hovered around -20º C in Chicago.

That's when - photographically speaking - there is something to be said for single-pane windows ( just as long as they're not located in living quarters...)

This past October, 2020, I traveled to the Eagle Ridge Territory outside of Galena, Illinois. I had just gotten a new Cannon Camera with multiple lenses that I wanted to try out. I walked abstractedly in the waiting for my first butterfly (vanessa cardui) of the season when by surprise I found this spider peeking in my backpack, I look at my camera and leave jumped quietly.

Many times the best scene is before us and we do not realize it.

Je marchais absorbais dans l'attente de mon premier papillon (vanessa cardui) saison ma surprise quand j'ai trouvé cette araignée fouiner dans mon sac à dos, je regarde mon appareil photo et je suis allé au large comme des sauts tranquillement.

Souvent, la meilleure scène devant nous et nous ne réalisons pas.
