The reason why balance is important lies in the prevalence of imbalances. Therefore, balance and imbalance are equally important. And a world that is out of balance and a world that cannot be unbalanced, or life, is equally scary and absurd. Our small group of five were the only visitors at Firefly. We wondered if, perhaps, Noel Coward, is unknown to some of the younger tourists in Jamaica. The house is unchanged since the day Noel Coward died and clearly in desperate need of restoration...although the site is beautifully maintained. It saddens me to think how it will fare in the future.

I did a very quick online check, and there are at least fifty songs where the mighty Ford Mustang gets a mention - with Mustang Sally being the first on the list. Which reminds me - I have a fellow village resident called Sally! Another shot for another day!
By contrast, my real car, a Mazda 2, features in one song (and that surprised me that it even got a mention in anything!) by someone called meetcute!

A forced perspective shot featuring two of my 1/18th scale die-cast model cars against the backdrop of our village street.
I live in a small town called Bondurant just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. It's a nice place with 9,000 friendly faces. However, that is a significant increase from the 7,365 residents counted in the 2020 census. We just had a βspecial censusβ to determine that new growth and itβs hard to believe we had a population of 3,860 back in 2010.
One of the newest additions to our town is a commercial property located in the center of Bondurant. There are three tenants: Buck's Depot (a bar and grill), an Edward Jones office (financial services company) and The Creamery (ice cream, slushees, etc). Unlike many rural areas, we are lucky to not have a bunch of empty storefronts and abandoned buildings in town. However, The Creamery is already βtemporarily closedβ. Itβs probably not a big concern, it is November and ice cream is probably not in high demand this time of year. The alcohol and financial establishments will certainly survive.

About a year ago, I told someone I knew that I really like good cover versions of songs, so they gifted me with a list of their favourite twenty cover versions of songs. Anyway, long story short, last September I glanced at the list again, and suddenly thought about how much fun it might be to make a photo inspired by each of those songs.
This picture was inspired by song number 5 in the playlist, Dreams, originally done by Fleetwood Mac, but the version on my list is performed by The Electric Peanut Butter Company.
I'll admit, I struggled with this one a bit, and thus ended going for a fairly literal translation of a few key parts of the song, particularly focusing on the words: loneliness, heartbeat, rain, and crystal visions (literally, I am toying with a crystal heart in the rain, cold and alone).
Fun fact: While I was doing this particular photo shoot, I did get a bit distracted by a guy hitting on me while he stood nearby gawping at me. It was a nice enough chat, but it went nowhere in the end. It turns out, the romcoms might be rather overplaying the romantic side of two people being together in the rain.
