About a month ago, No! I looked it up. Exactly a month ago there was a very foggy morning and i went and got some shots around town. I am only two blocks away from this lovely (rebuilt) bridge. This is what I beholdeth that morning.

Happy Anyday.

Out and about today trying to catch more autumn color before everything is gone.

About 5 or 6 weeks ago I drove out to the Isle of Grain to photograph this old tower battery on the recommendation of another Flickr photographer (thank you shrimperdan ). The attraction of the place is simple, it is virtually deserted of people and in the time of covid 19 social distancing it was the perfect escape for half a day. This tower was built in the 1850s when there was some tension between France and England and the English wanted to protect the mouth of the river that was the main artery into London. It was never used in anger at that time and was later converted to a more modern gun emplacement for service in both the first and second world wars. It was decommissioned in the 1950s and has been standing derelict since that time although interestingly it is privately owned. It can be reached on foot only at low tide and then only for a few hours before the tide comes back in.

About blackbird-sized and striking black-and-white. It has a very distinctive bouncing flight and spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches, often trying to hide on the side away from the observer. Its presence is often announced by its loud call or by its distinctive spring 'drumming' display. The male has a distinctive red patch on the back of the head and young birds have a red crown. What they eat: Insects, seeds and nuts (Courtesy RSPB).

About time for another Kingfisher

About 20 minutes before sunset I was thinking the sky might get very colorful, but I was busy with some things so could not head down to Middle River ...

But as the sun set ... the sky went 'crazy' ... I was able to quickly get out the camera and get some captures nearby at some large trees. Composed with the 14mm between these large trees. It was fun to see what compositions I could come up with while enjoying those amazing clouds and colors as they changed over several minutes.

About time for a sunset, haven't posted one for a while.

Here's another trip down memory lane to a beauty evening spent at a remote spot on the Ardnamuchan Penisula, watching the sunset over the sea, with the islands of Muck, Eigg and Rum on the horizon.

I will definitely never question this dude about that

The proof is right there

Hanging in the open for everybody to see

Some of us needs to show off

And some of us knows what we are, who we are - and don't need to show to the whole world that we have balls

I bet those who needs to tell the whole world that they have balls, don't really have them......

I'm cursing in the church now, yes

But it's only my belief

If you respect yourself and love yourself, then you have the balls to stand up for yourself too

Best balls ever

Poor bird, lol - he is a victim of my words

I have to put some extra goodies on my tray today

Phew 😬🤔

I have often told you stories about the way

I lived the life of a drifter

Waiting for the day

When I'd take your hand and sing you songs

Then maybe you would say

"Come lay with me and love me"

And I would surely stay

But I feel I'm growing older

And the songs that I have sung

Echo in the distance

Like the sound

Of a windmill going round

Guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune

Many times I've been a traveller

I looked for something new

In days of old when nights were cold

I wandered without you

But those days I thought my eyes had seen you standing near

Though blindness is confusing

It shows that you're not here

Now I feel I'm growing older

And the songs that I have sung

Echo in the distance

Like the sound

Of a windmill going round

Guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune

I can hear the sound

Of a windmill going round

Guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune

I guess I'll always be

A soldier of fortune

Which I thought for so many years

That I would forever be

But I found you, you found me

I'm no soldier of fortune anymore

That's history, that's past

Light is always ahead

Even angels are around us

Like in this photo

Amen

Hebrews 9:3-5

American Standard Version

3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies; 4 having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was a golden pot holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy-seat; of which things we cannot now speak severally.

Grey Squirrel raiding my bird feeding station, great fun to watch, expensive to keep.

I spent about 3 hours standing in the rain yesterday waiting for the thunderstorms to pass over. The first one came and went without any joy but as the second came though I heard a few rumbles then the rain came in pouring down over Loch Lomond. I would like to say this is one image but sadly trying to catch lightning during the day from previous experience is tricky so instead I filmed it on high res video until I had a strike. Then took some stills and blended the lightning into the shot from the video so I had a higher quality image.
