While exploring the new Saint-Roch district in Montpellier, I was captivated by the architectural boldness of the Higher Roch residence, a remarkable creation by the Brenac & Gonzalez architects. I chose this worm's eye view to highlight the distinctive signature of this building: its helical structure that gracefully rises towards the sky. The composition reveals the harmonious marriage between the warm wood of the facades and the purity of the white arches that rhythm the ascension. What particularly drew me to this shot was how the architecture reinvents collective housing, transforming a residential building into urban sculpture. The soft light of this cloudy day perfectly emphasizes the textures and highlights this dialogue between contemporary design and natural materials.
