Desmodium in its subtle, seed-studded glory. The whimsical nickname “Fruity Pebbles” seemed to fit these little botanical gems clinging to a curved stem.
This is a very close up shot of a carnation. The flower itself had much more saturation in it's actual color. I washed it out using a few high temperature lights and overexposed it a bit. My goal was to wash it out a bit and still retain detail and depth. Result is pretty cool.
No Photoshop used here. Only used the RAW editor to enhance the exposure.
I. Love. This. Picture :D
It's very simple and not as colorful as my regular uploads, but I love both kinds of photography: On the one hand there are explosive colors and complex color gradients and on the other hand there are minimalistic shots.

As this flower began to wilt, the colors became more compact and compressed and I ended up with the rich warm tones. No recoloring or Photoshop at all...that is the real beauty of the flower.
Just a fraction of a second later he was flying away :D
Hope you like it! :)

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I have a few things on the go. I turned off comments on the previous two uploads because they were meant as a guide for others using this system. I didn't document the settings I used for this one :-( This one has some glycerine and milk in it which gives it that opaque quality.

While exploring decaying industrial surfaces, this particular pattern caught my eye. The vibrant yellow paint peeling away to reveal a deep blue underneath created an almost cosmic visual effect. By shooting in macro, I wanted to elevate this simple deteriorating surface into an abstract artwork, where the natural process of decay becomes a form of artistic expression. The cracking patterns remind me of aerial views of landscapes or abstract expressionist paintings. My goal was to capture the inherent beauty in imperfection and the way time transforms ordinary surfaces into extraordinary compositions.
